Well i have no idea at this point, the tank is used and came with this set up, just no return plumbing. Just have always had one on my tank. Guess I will just plumb it without and hope for the best.

Are they all created equal? I ordered a true union check valve on amazon.... it arrived today and its a ball check valve. I for one have never seen one like this before.... AND 2nd.... Will i still get enough flow? Should I run it anyway or should I return it and get the much more expensive flapper kind? Thanks for the input

I am looking for a used maxijet that I can use to pump water into my tank during set up and water changes. I think I use to use a 900 or 1200 back in the day and fitted the end of the pump with tubing to pump it the tank..... Anyone have something like this for a decent budget friendly price?

PS.... The urge to not buy the cute little clown trigger Garrett had in his shop on sunday was a very hard urge to ignore.... I really wanted that cute little guy!

After months of lurking and refusing to let the saltwater urge out..... I have purchased a used a 60 gal Marineland cube, stand, sump, Reef Octupus skimmer and LED light from Matt. Base rock from Jeff at Cuttlefish and corals, couple nice pieces of Pukani from BRS. Curing in an 18 gal tub for the last couple weeks. LED light..... I can't remember what kind he told me it was, its got nice color and dimable, even has red, green and purple LED's. (Something that wasn't around when I last played in tanks!) I have a Jaebo DC 8000 adjustable in sump pump for this set up. Waiting on my check valve to arrive. Hope to have this plumbed (which you know is my favorite part of building tanks! Really it is, I love it!) Saturday night. Hope to have water in this bad boy Sunday! Its nice to be back! Cant wait to feed my addiction soon!

Thats what I use to use on our old big skimmer! Very high tech and effective, also available at the dollar store!
