  1. I'm not sure, I just asked on the rk2 section of the digital aquatics forum. You don't need to be logged in to view the answers.
  2. A new 20k 250 watt DE bulb, or 20k SE setup. SPS, Acans
  3. Reefkeeper NET module. 100$ You can control your tank via your reefkeeper lite or elite with this. Works with your smart phone and has iphone ap. Bought this 5/11/12 I can show web receipt.
  4. Your fish sounds like its in rough shape. It should defiantly spend up to 8 weeks in quarantine but the 10 gallon is WAY too small for this. I'll let others chime in about tank size but I'm going to say minimum of 60 gallons and that is pretty small even for temperary housing. Over the quarentine time you can hopefully nurse this fish back to health, treat with meds if nesesary, observe and fatten up with plenty of garlic soaked food.
  5. The enormous iMac screen does not lie. That screen lets you see everything in very fine detail. It was obvious that it was computer animation right off the bat so I thought cool, the dolphins are going to morph into zombies and eat the boat. But sadly no, they took turns staring into the camera.
  6. That was a cool video but the way they kept hyping something amazing about to happen i thought one of the dolphins was going to jump in the boat. For the record, the dolphins were absolutely computer generated.
  7. This is just my experience and i might not be using it right but i got this tool and i hate it. First of all it looks all nice in the picture but when you open the package its in a bunch of different parts and they are all bulk tubing and plastic, i could have made one for about $3.95. It looks really cheap once you have it assembled too. I wanted it so i could blast off the nooks in the rocks but there is no power to it when you push the plunger. Sorry, i just had to rant about this reef tool, #1 thing i have bought in this hobby that i wish i hadn't. Of course i don't want to throw it away so it just sits there as a reminder to my self not to buy reef junk.(flame) Rant ended
  8. I was thinking about that and i put a new bulb in a week ago. I got this one from home depot, im 99.9% sure i have used this before. http://www.homedepot.com/buy/lighting-fans/light-bulbs/ecosmart/23-watt-120w-r40-daylight-1-pack-e-39262.html#.UCNAhKDWCt8
  9. I don't clean three of the walls in my refugium and lately my cheato and other macros have stopped growing and gotten brown crud on them. Tonight (i don't know what i was thinking) I scraped the walls of the fuge and it unleashed this s**t storm in my tank of flaky, slimy algae. I am running a full reactor of carbon right now. Im just wondering if others clean there refugium? and whats up with the stoppage of macro growth?
  10. Ive heard those can take over. nice color though
  11. They have been trying this in a number of different spots. They run low voltage through a metal rack and it stimulated coral growth through increased calcium production. There was an article in the Oregonian not long ago about this and it featured woody at seahorse trying his own experiment with low voltage coral growth. I was in last weekend and checked it out. Looked pretty rough.
  12. I'm curious about the filter too. Is it a DIY media basket? Looks good. If you put your photos on photobucket then copy and paste the image code to your post, it will look super.
  13. Sounds amazing but in reality there are trade offs.
  14. Thats so cool, how did you catch that on video, amazing.
  15. Looks to me like it's splitting, Means it must be doing really well. I have had a couple split in the past and in my case the larger of the two stayed rooted in the rock while the other just floated around looking for a place to land. This could be bad if it lands in an impeller. Keep watch
  16. I love that AIO's get modded before they are wet. Look forward to the pictures, welcome.
  17. I had my lights off yesterday and half schedule today. Too HOT
  18. Looked like 90% of those techs at the controls didn't have much to do. Very cool though, glad i saw that.
  19. Thanks, the one nice thing is, if I choose the wrong fish it will be easy to catch for once. One more question, any idea how high off the water line to hang the 250 watt MH? All the frags will be on the same level for now. Almost all will be high light sps, I'll place lower light corals toward the edges.
  20. Yeah the dividers were a bonus. I like the fish ideas so far. What about hermits and snails?
  21. I'm just going to throw this out this but if this were my tank I would not hesitate to transfer everything over in one shot. Let me explain my reasoning. Because you are using dry reef rock and dry sand there will be zero die off. The established live rock you have from the ten gallon will be plenty to handle your low bio load. For example, if you were to plumb in a 40 gallon tank full of dry rock and sand to the existing ten gallon there would be no cycle. I would how ever let the rocks establish bacteria for a month and then slowly slowly increase your load with new fish and coral after that.
  22. Thanks, I've been wanting to start this tank for a while. Can't wait to start filling it up! I'm trying to decide what type of fish to put in there and I'm thinking about 3 green chromis.
