  1. They have low prices on both corals (ora included) and fish. But it is a hit or miss and Kim said: I've read a lot of bad reviews on nano reef. If you don't find the LMC's (Lighting Maroon Clowns) there, I have a pair for sale
  2. We were referring to remote deep sand beds, not the deep sand bed in the tank. I agree with you for the cons of a sand bed in the tank. Nitrate cannot become phosphate. The nitrogen cycle and phosphorus cycle are two different things
  3. I see you already have the new ORA Purple undata!
  4. I think that for a reef tank a well build and sized RDSB ca do wonders for a fraction of the cost and risk compared to biopellets. We don't feed as much as a fish only tank or a fish breeding setup
  5. I had the same problem. I solved switching to balling and the doser controller
  6. Did you put some live rock with coralline in the tank? It needs to be seeded
  7. 2 articles on reefbuilders plus this... this is awesome. Thanks to all of you that made it possible
  8. After Steve feedback it is definitely something to try...
  9. If that's a 17,5 inches 70w sunpod, it is worth $150 alone, since they don't produce them anymore and they are really desired for many small nanos. Good deal $200 for all!
  10. I'm with algae. I built a 73x36 without the vertical 2x4 and I had to add them later. I only had 2 40b on top of it, but it was enough to bend the 2x4 and the top. I had to use a car jack to do the job. The 2x4 do bend easily
  11. I wish it was as simple as it seems from your lines. The problem of low cost hosting and css (xss) is not something we can control. I can have all my scripts up to date and secured but if you hack from a Mambo 4.6 beta installation that is on the server and that I don't even know of the existence.. there isn't much to do. I've been working in this business for over 12 years now and I'm still ask myself what kind of amusement a person can find on just running bots for hacking random websites. At least I used to have a specific target lol
  12. I just spent my morning fixing one of my clients websites that was hacked. I had 2 other websites last week. Then there is our pnwmas.org which is constantly under attack. This message is for you, our dear hacker: why don't you get a reef tank! You can spend your free time enjoying this amazing hobby! How boring is to spend your life seeking the latest sql injection? Get a tank and a clownfish! (laugh)
  13. Bump for some good deals, and for our punk rocker
  14. Ryan, I think the media will last about 3 months if you are lucky. I'm reading here and there right now and, from a scientific point of view, it looks more like snake's oil. But who knows, maybe it can work well for our aquariums. We should give it a try. If it works as it should, the device should perform better than the hole in the wall.
  15. Let me know where you can find some. I would like to give it a try too. During the winter I ran the air intake outside, but I didn't notice much difference in ph. Maybe it is gonna work this way
  16. I think that you got the point: the low evaporation. You need to drip a good amount of kalk for the benefits you were mentioning. I used kalk alone for a couple of years and it worked great. I think corals grow faster for the po4 precipitation more than the 500ppm of ca in the tank. The only problem I experienced was too much coralline algae and the fact that dripping kalk is not easy and you can't control the effects of what you are doing: if there isn't enough co2 in the tank when you are dripping, you will release carbonate ions, with a lot of precipitation. You can add vinegar to avoid this, but this makes the hole setup even more complicated to manage
  17. I was thinking about this a few days ago. Which media were you thinking to use?

You are welcome. That's a Florida
  19. You also have to configure the port forwarding section of your router to point at your cam's IP address
