I was reading that in plastic industry the usage of phosphorus, mainly as phosphate plasticizers, stabilizers, flame-proofing agents, is huge. Most of the plastic materials we put inside our tanks do leak phosphates. For example egg-crate. It is produced to be a light filter. So flame-proofing agents are added, and phosphates are easy and cheap to add. I'm for triple checking the cause of the algae bloom before to add some more variables into the tank.

Was it difficult to drill the glass? I just got an used small sump to add to my 10 gallon and I would like to drill a couple of holes but I'm scared... I'm looking forward to see the new pendant.

I think you need to be specific for when photos are due before a person is disqualified. Maybe a schedule: Aug 17 - Sept 6, Sept 7 - 20, Sept 21 - Oct 1 where at least one pic must be posted within each date range or the person is disqualified.. Or maybe one per calendar week? With a pre-notice of vacation to be excused? I don't think you can disqualify yourself or others when you don't have a specific rule that is broken

Personally I like the minimalist look and it will look even better with a bigger pendant, when I will upgrade. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not a fan of the standard canopy and I love the open top tanks.

Updates 2 In the other room of the basement I setted up my "wather station". I was bored of difficult water changes so with some $30 I built this unit. As you can see from the pics the left bucket is feed by RO/Di. Then a diy bulkhead feed by gravity the second bucket, where I make the salt wather. An heater and an old powerhead are into this second unit. I plan to add a float valve and a solenoid to have always the fresh water bucket filled up. It is working very well. When you need to make salt you just open the lower valve and the water goes into the second unit. Add salt and switch on pump and heater and you are set. Also the 2 buckets feature 2 ball valves for easily serve fresh or salt wather. In the future I plan to add a couple of pumps to feed the auto topoff and wather change of my new tank (yes! the 4th one). This is a 100g rubbermaid tub that I will use for propagation. At now is filled with about 100lb of a mix of LR and dead rock. There is also a venturi skimmer and a MJ 1200 with the 2100gph kit.

Some updates Recently a member of the Pforum (Rick) built for me a nice hanging system for the 65g. It is made of 2 stainless steel tubes, bent and with 2 sailing fittings that are perfect to attach the fixture. I also got a tube bender and with a 1/2inch alluminum tube I made a support for the lights of my 10 gallon.

I'm looking for an external pump. GPH is not important since I will use as utility pump. I can offer some corals or cash.

I'm still at 7... Although I think 14 polyps at this point should be grounds for disqualification, since using steroids is clearly in violation of the rules!

Does it have a little white stripe down the back but no obvious shell? If it does, then it's an elephant snail. We got one as a hitchhiker.. pretty cool guy but they can get kind of big
