1. Yes, that was easy :-) I lowered them some more after the pic. Give me a few hours to figure out the sizes for the tube and I'll send you an email. I would like to go bare bottom, I like them better, maybe because I'm from Europe lol Wife likes it with sand. We are fighting but you know already who is gonna win. We have sand in the Biocube 14 and bare bottom in my 10g and I can say that the last one is more easy to keep (and also nicer with all the coralline on the bottom glass). Thanks again
2. ..and some more work (and money) The plumbing is a mix of pvc and flexible. A schwid take care of alternating the closed looè return Water! I had to redo 2 bulkheads, obviously the most difficult to reach (sump and lower drain) Salt! Now is a marine aquarium :-) We had a good deal yesterday from a member of the forum for a 175W MH that we are gonna use for a while until we find the right ones (probably 2x250w MH + T5 actinics). We also found some nice live rock in the local area. It was a busy weekend The tank room, just repainted. Not finished yet. Glad I had some Chemi Pure elite running into the 2 other tanks for the paint fumes. Now cycling and looking for the rest of the equipment (skimmer, ato and calcium reactor) and some more Live Rock.
3. After some work: Flow is now delivered by a 1" bulkhead + a 3/4 bulkhead + a closed loop (1" drain and 3/4 returns). A Little Giant rated about 1000gph @0 as main pump and a Fasco rated about 1000 for the closed loop. The drain is a massive 1500gph monster The sump was a wet/dry filter that I converted to a sump with a fuge suspended on top of it. I was worried about the design but now that I see it working I'm satisfied (bubble trap working very well) A little media filter container I built inside the sump Wife restoring the stand The overflow

5. July 3rd Second day in the tank.. woke up to find that the frag rock broke and took two polyps with it into the depths of the tank. Down to 2 polyps left
6. July 2 photo Ok finally some photos now that we got the camera situation fixed.. July 2 - first set up in the tank. Lost a polyp in the bag on the way home
7. 2 polyps and it looks like two babies spouting.. almost back to the starting point and still in!
8. Sounds great, we'll take these if you end up parting out if we haven't already gotten something else.. but we're not in a rush.
9. We're looking for some rock for our new 65gal... it's a truvu though so they would have to be able to fit through the holes. You free today? We'd love to come get some from you
10. We're looking for 250w halides with T5 actinics.. if you have them and want to part out
11. You guys are so awesome... thanks again for helping us out so much today!!
12. I'd add in the Frog Prince in Grants Pass... nice little shop
13. Nice setup Frank! Is the drain a coast to coast? Today I worked on the new sump for the 65g, I will start a thread here soon. It's too late to come to see the reactor? Alex
14. 1 polyp fell off on the way home, the rock the remaining 4 were on broke off the first night taking another 2 somewhere into the depths of my tank.... I did find one 3 says later crammed under another frag and glued it back on the best I could. Looks like I'm down 2
15. Can you post some photos?
16. I found one of my polyps that fell off!! Tomorrow I'm going to try to reattach him..
17. I would also prefer that we all receive adult polyps.. maybe it doesn't matter to some, but it feels a bit unequal with some get 5 babies to start with and others have adults. Either way... the two baby polyps I have left will beat your big ones in the end mwhahaha (plotting)
18. I picked up my frag from Rick on Wednesday and when I pulled it out of the bag, I found that one of the polyps fell off. I tried to reattach it, but it blew away somewhere in the tank. Then I left for the long weekend and when I came back today I found that my little frag rock broke in half and took two of my four polyps away... somewhere in my tank lol I'll post a pic tomorrow of the frag when I first got him set up with his 4 little polyps. The two I have remaining are still babies, but starting to color up on the edges and don't look like they will be blowing away... I was really torn about wanting a new frag (especially after seeing that others received full adult polyps), but I figure such is the luck of corals and fragging and I'm going to tough it out with the two kids and see how I do!
19. Actually I'm a web designer/programmer who has been in business for almost 10 years and I would love to help out. Check out my portfolio at and let me know what you're looking for: www.smashbeat.com/portfolio Thanks, Alex
20. Display tank: 14gal Biocube Sump: nope Refugium: built-in with modified chambers including live rock, cheato, chemi-pure, and filter floss (changed every couple days) Gear: maxi jet 900, koralia nano, hydor flo, remora nano skimmer w/maxi jet 1200, auto top off Livestock: two false perculas, rufus, yellow scroll, neon ora birdsnest, acan, 9 ricordea, 5 watermelon shrooms, killer suncoral, chalice, devil's hand, neon gsp, many zoas Estimated total gallons to system: 14gal Lighting: 70w 14k Sunpod Time established: Since 10/2008
21. With my wife have been running 2 nano tanks (10 and 14 gallons) for a while and it's time to upgrade.. So we bought a 65g with sump here on the local forum classifields. We did re-design some aspects of the setup, so we need some equipment and some advice too :-) What we need so far: - a metal halide + t5 actinics pendant. (can be a single long piece) MH should be 2x250w. - a good skimmer for the biomass we are gonna run (about 80 gallons well populated with fish and corals). If I dont find a good one I was thinking to buy the new Bubble-Magus little model. I've read good things about it. - a calcium reactor, no clue about model/performance - heaters - plumbing: if you bought more than needed for your previous project, this is the time to get rid of it and make some space :-) Both pvc and flexible tubing (1, 3/4), elbows, tees, valves and so on. - SCWD 3/4 - any other tool/material you think I may need and you can sell (or "rent" for a beer). As I said my experience with medium-size setups is zero. It’s also my first sump, first external pumps, first closed-loop, first plumbing! I know it looks like a wish list to Santa, and christhmas is far away, but we figured it’s worth a shot :-) We are gonna leave tomorrow afternoon for 4th July and be back sunday afternoon, so you have time to dig ;-)
22. I don't know how I'm getting mine.. In in NE off 13th near Alberta.. who can I meet to pick it up? Thanks!
23. Ohhhh that is sad! We had a bit of the hair algae and even a little drove me crazy! Were you able to get rid of it?
