    ID Help-had some trouble

I cant get photobucket to upload. I googled "Hydnophora" and saw one at live aquaria they were calling a horn coral-looks the same and is a Hydnophora. I had a Hydno in the past but it may have been a different strain-it did not encrust like this one, Here is the other I had Thanks for the ID I can't believe I replaced what I had-(nutty)
  4. Sure, I might be trading a few things to Nick so that could work, these are part of that trade-LOL- I'm right off of I-205 if that's the way you'ld be heading-just an idea
  5. Reduced-one final time 10 BUCKS EACH Last chance before they go to the LFS where they will sell to someone for at least twice the amount Photos dont represent well
  6. You are giving this away? Good deal for someone What you have is a Current-USA Aqua Pod I had the same unit
  7. The 1st pic is not the best and this coral is normally light green. I noticed today that the 2nd photo had grown out to where it was touching the mystery acro. Well enough said, it has really put the hurts to the acro. The 2nd is a rock encrusting and is similar to the Hydno's external polyp type "feelers" Heck I don't know what to call them. Any help is appreciated-if anyone has any idea of what I might expect in trade value the 2nd one has been served eviction papers Thanks in advance
  8. LOL-Tigard what a stupid idiot-Make your daddy proud!!!
  9. Hey Eric, my actinics you saw are all the 03 which has the 420nm-FYI
  10. Good question-I found this online although this is not a digitata, basiclly same info-IMO Montipora Digitata Ideal Environment Montipora digitata are best kept in moderate to high flow water conditions. Lighting for Montipora digitata, like all corals, is very important due to the photosynthesis process. This coral can handle the more concentrated heavy light of metal halides, or T-5 florescents and VHOs. They need at least three watts per gallon of a lighting method to thrive in a reef aquarium. Similar to other corals, Montipora digitata do best when given weekly feedings of micro-plankton to promote their growth. Montipora Digitata Additives In addition to maintaining a moderate water condition, Montipora digitata benefit from added calcium and strontium in the tank water. Calcium is integral to skeletal growth of the coral. This chemical should be kept in the 400-450 mg/l range. Alkalinity, an inorganic carbon source, is a helpful addition to the tank for Montipora digitata as a part of the photosynthesis process. This should be maintained at 160 mg/l or ~3.25 meq/l. Biocarbonates, an alkalinity booster, can also be added to promote the coral growth and health. Montipora Digitata Conditions Montipora digitata are easy to maintain and can grow rapidly with proper maintenance. The water temperature should stay between 72 and 78 degrees Fahrenheit with pH levels between 8.1-8.4, The dKH should be 8-12 and sq at 1.023-1.025. These are typical water conditions for many montipora and small polyp stony corals. TMI
  11. 50.00-nothig wrong just I need to dump it-will accept reef related trades too Email for additional answers to any specifics. I have two towers from upgrades a year ago-just collecting dust they have been formatted and are back to the original, I have done all windows updates but I am sure there are more to get. This one has Microsoft Mapoint 2009 Microsoft office professional 2003 XP home edition
  12. No I caught the "reef addiction" again. I had it many years ago and after many meetings I kicked the habit-(laugh) Then last November I saw a nano and it was all over. I bought and nano and then upgraded to the truvu, then decided if I am really going to enjoy it I dont want any scratches so I went glass. And here I am-DOH!
  13. Hey now get in line-LOL Hey Randy are you talking xbox or xbox 360. I HAD a modded xbox with the monster hard drive, rip your games to it and BOOM play directly from the hard drive, no need for the "original" copy. Federal offense subject to 250,000 dollar fine and 5 years in jail per pirated game. I got rid of all my consoles, yea thats it, I got rid of them
  14. DUUUDE, how did you get your 360 modded, my guy (years ago) told me it was not possibble. I got my PS2, Wii, and old xbox modded (600 GigaByte HD)-to save back ups of my originals-(laugh) Hmmmm Do you place the original in the Xbox and rip it to a hard drive or do you use a decryptor and Image Burn etc....??? Could be interested
  15. Looks like you got your answers but what I did (2 tanks ago)...... I had mine above my tank but not that high, I went to taps plastics and got sheets of black plastic that I placed in front and the sides, had to glue pea size pices of plastic on the tank so it would keep the plastic from falling, plus I cut the plastic like a pyramid sort of so it joined somewhat at the top, not the prettiest but I dont know that pendants are meant to be "blocked". You may want to lower it a bit so you dont much light passing the edges-but I'm sure you mayhave tried that, The other option which may net you some cash-Sell the little ones, this time of year you will get top dollar- Good luck!
  16. Ok, so 3 month old bulbs are giving me values as follows top left JUST below water-1000 top middle-500 top right-1100 middle left-420 middle middle-500 middle right-600 bottom left-300 bottom middle-275 bottom right-360 when they were brand new my range across the top from left to right was; 1120,700,1200 middle from left to right; 600,600,710 bottom left to right; 410, 280, 420 Granted I have changed up my rock work slightly and have some corals I did not. Overall after 3 months (or 25% of expected/recommended life span) of use I would say these are pretty strong numbers. I will save these numbers and start checking monthly so I can get a better idea as to when exactly they lose their punch. Keep in mind these bulbs are 22.00 each not 65-90 so if I get 6 months worth I have saved money- My bet is they will lsat more than 6 months. Heck I dont even now what "name brand" bulbs par levels are after 2 months, maybe they drop at the same ratios. Here is a lengthy thread regarding these Ebay bulbs-11 pages-; http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1703568
