  1. Its no so much the time as I dont have a place in my dispaly and the 20 gallon- I tried that method with a ricordia and another shroom-3 weeks later, not attached-Thats why I say I cant wait, I should have said "I'm not willing to wait and SEE if it works" Thanks Charles
  2. I have a piece from my Devils finger leather that was getting ready to drop off. I helped it out with my razor blade, dried to the best I could, super glued (gel) it to a piece of rubble and 10 minutes later, full polyp extension ove rthe next 2 days it detached and was curios what other do. I dont have time toplace it in a shallow dish and wait for it to attach on its own. Presently I have stuck a toothpick through the "body" and have the ends of that toothpick rubber banded (lightly) to that same rock. Any help would be great, I have 3 other frags I need to take care of.
  3. I have this red what I think is coraline growing on my rocks and in looking over peoples threads about Cyno made me remeber last year(another forum) someone saying that what was on my rocks was cyno. It cant be removed by toothbrush, its not slimy. When I google "red coraline" what I find looks like what I have (it was that comment from ONE person that had me curious-one out of many people) Any ideas on what it may be if it is not a form of coraline? One pic is my display the other is "holding tank" sadly my 20 gallon gets 1/10 the attention as my display-params are good-thats all I care about TIA for any ideas; my 20 gallon-(sad) My main tank-
  4. Same seller as this guy I believe; http://shop.ebay.com/hellolights/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25 I have bought from them in the past-Great seller Free shipping on a lot of items
  5. 295.00, it is posted in the header OMG that is a screaming deal
  6. Thats just how mine grows-It would not cover rock if I wanted it to-not that I do. It grows in "stalks" with the 2 inch tenticle type waving arms As long as I can keep it contained to a removable piece of LR all is fine-that way it helps off set the cost for food-(laugh)
  7. I think we have 2 different types of zenia-I'ld toss it if I did not get 20 bucks per frag I take in. It just stays confined to a single rock and I lop a few branches when it thinks its time to "spread" This is the type I have; and the frag; Your tank looks great, add a nice superman, sunset, danae or all of the above-LOL
  8. And you always will-(laugh) I have a few 5" zenia frags to take to the LFS- I keep a few "wavy" things just for accasions like you/I had. I could not fit a colony in my tank if it was free- Love the story, glad we are all not alone
  9. I hear ya! What abot the GSP??? LOL-similar thing happened to me yesterday- We had some family and friends over for dinner and in looking at my tank someone comes up with "Where are all the fish?" (laugh) I think I have over 40 varieties of SPS and then the LPS and then the zoos- I have 6 fish the largest being a purple tang. After I explained every single thing you see is alive..well, much respect and compliments were given-(clap) Get used to it, people are not accustomed to seeing reef tanks- The very best one to date is my son's friend who the 1st time coming over to stay the night sees the tank and says "Whoa, this is way better than the doctor's office" I say, Yes, yes it is-(laugh) Tell the grandparents about the 50.00 dollar 1 inch frag you bought and see- Maybe stick with the Zenia and let me take a colony or three of your hands-The offer is out there-(plotting)
  10. Make sure you have a great skimmer-all I can attribute the death of what I had die is the skimmer did not do its job. I am sure in those 30+ readings there had to be a few that stressed the importance of a good skimmer-Which according to all the reviews mine was. I did the twice a day method outlined in the thread coralreefer mentioned- Anyway-my goal was reducing NO3 lower than the 20-25 I was seeing with my 20% H2O changes every other week. I have accomplished that-current NO3 level- .01 Good luck-I'll never be an advocate for Vodka dosing, because.. IF it does not work like it is supposed to, and there are times (I sure you read) that it does not, well things dies. Hats off to all you vodka dosers- glad its working for ya!!! My Purigen accomplishes the same thing and I don't have to add it every single day-(laugh) I have actually gone 6 weeks without a water change feeding daily and my NO3 is still .01
  11. Another plug for Saltwater Fantasies-Patrick is not in on Sundays-He has a few new set ups with colonies
  12. Hey Roy, this is how I am currently running mine-into the sock. I have the return tube zip tied to my PVC down tube so it stays put, and it works fine. Same as when I had the EV series. MY PH stays pretty consistent at 8.10. I have a Marine Pinpoint PH Monitor that I have in the sump to view PH at a glance and it is always where I want it. My tank never goes above 8.13 w/PH
  13. I am sure you are calibrating correctly. In the beginning I had found I was not letting it sit in the calibration fluid long enough-I would place the probe in the solution and make the adjustment right away-I realized later that was not working. I ended up letting it sit in the fluid a good 25 minutes before making any adjustments. I had thought my fluid was bad/old or the probe was bad, all along it was me not letting it sit long enough. After that everything has worked fine. I understand all the things you listed can go wrong-Fortunately we know what our tanks look like and sense with something is not right- Milwaukie is a great line I am told I'll cross my fingers mine hangs in there
  14. I use Salifert. I use the Marine Pinpoint PH Controller with my Ca reactor and it keeps my KH right at 11.2 and Ca right at 470. I test it weekly out of habit but it is always exactly the same values as above. I see you have a Ca Reactor, add the PH Controller and eliminate the need to drip Kalk and your KH and Ca will ALWAYS be at the values you determine. Set it and forget it. I use a Pinpoint PH monitor in the sump so I can see at a glance where the PH is. I here Milwaukie is a more consistant line than MP

  16. This are like 6 months ago, at that time I was running 20K, but I also have the 4-65 watt actinics so these are not just 20K; I dont have anything to compare-like before/after. But for 44.00 delivered 2 250MH DE 20K-you wont be disappointed-IMO
  17. LOL They work for me, but there are many who prefer other brands-I believe its a very confusing topic full of "opinions"
  18. Yes eBay and this guy in particular; http://shop.ebay.com/trust_deals/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25 And here is some reading for you; http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1703568 or pay retail for a name brand that only runs 4x the amount-choices!!
  19. Hey Miles if you have someone that wants to buy these please sell them, Bob said his trip South is not in stone. I want them but cant make the drive when fuel is more than the corals-LOL Any info I get I will update you Thanks
  20. Yes I do and yes they are. I have posted to that thread on RC and that is what I refer to when people ask. There are those over there that have been using the Plusrite for years with great results and are very happy with them. I've been usung them for a year. The bulbs are great- I actually pulled them and are running 15K (odyssea-the brand that camne with my fixture) because I wanted more coral growth( and WOW the corals responded almost immediately-1 month later and I can see the growth difference). I have 4-65 watt acrinics so I was not worried and the color. Once the 15K are toast I will buy the 14 or 15 Kelvin that this seller has;; http://myworld.ebay.com/trust_deals&ssPageName=STRK:MEFSX:SELLERID I sell weekly on eBay so I spend alot of time on there, I buy most of my reef related items there-Sorry locals-(sad) but you cant stock everything it costs money to carry inventory that does not move. Here is the RC thread; http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1703568

    ID Help-had some trouble

It was purchased from OIAB but the pic of it when I was bidding had all the "nubs" if I can call them that somewhat purple so it did not look like a Hydno- Plus it was being sold as a Monti-(flame)
