    Bad day.

The mileage before and after the missed one was nearly 10K, so it was over the 7500. That is the problem. The way the dealership has treated us so far, I doubt they would have honored it anyway. I also found out yesterday that because we waived the 30k service, that voided my warranty as well. The 30k service included: an oil change, changing the cabin air filter, changing the power steering fluid, and inspecting the brakes and fuel system. We had in at 29,800 when they tried to sell my wife on the service. She was going to get it all done until they gave her the price...$985. Crooks....

That is way cool. Have you seen the Dillon mingun video shot from the helicopter?
  3. I cut a small frag of this one for you Roy. Tried to get a nice size one, but my clippers arent big enough.

    Bad day.

Our manual shows 7500 miles, but we typically got it changed more often that that. The first oil change was at 3800 miles and the 2nd at 7700 miles. They told us there was sludge in the engine at 7700 miles? So I change the oil at half the recommended interval and then I get sludge. I got better news though today. My truck came in, so I can pick it up tomorrow. That at least gets us back to two vehicles until I can figure out what to do with the car.
  5. Its a good thing you bought that Sunburst Anthias. Saved me from buying it.
  6. Not sure about the blenny, but Im sure the Chromis would do fine if they are healthy. I had one live in a rubbermaid container for 8 days without food, heat or circulation. (Forgot about him during a move.) Re-acclimated and the thing kept on a ticking.
  7. The northern members (rock2). Too bad, not many people want to drive up here to trade with us.

    Bad day.

Mazda CX-7. Our previous Mazda was a great car. This one has serious issues. The forums are jammed with stories of blown engines, turbos, AC compressors causing fires, and more. Many have their engines replaced at 30k to have them blow up again later. This thing has been bad luck from the start. We just got it back a few months ago from the auto- body shop. An uninsured motorist hit it while it was parked at my wife's work and caused over $10k in damage. This was 2 weeks after I adjusted the collision deductible to $1k from $250 to save on my insurance rate. I didn't realize that an uninsured accident comes out of collision and not comprehensive. Then the autobody shop couldnt get parts from Mazda, so my rental car insurance ran out. DOH! So now we have a very nicely rebuilt car that doesnt run. I will never be able to sell the darn thing with 2 strikes on the Carfax. Im thinking of launching it off a cliff.

    Bad day.

We have done several at Jiffy Lube and several at the dealership. My wife called Jiffy Lube today and they were extremely helpful, but they only keep records for one year. The one I cant dig up or verify was one that I did with a buddy. I even looked through all my bank statements, but cant find the receipt. Very expensive lesson learned.

    Bad day.

From all of the complaints to the BBB and NHTSA it is pretty apparent that the manufacture does not want to acknowledge the problem and is doing very little to resolve these cases. They are even denying claims to people that have all their records. There are a couple of thousand complaints and several groups trying to assemble a class-action lawsuit. Im still going to try, but it looks like many have gone there before me and very few have succeeded.

    Bad day.

So this morning my wife calls me with car problems. Didnt sound too serious, so I told her to finish the 2 miles to her work and call the dealership. The dealership wasnt much help on the phone diagnosing potential problems, so I hired a flatbed to drive the car down to them. They called my wife back and asked for all of the oil change records. Oh crap. Apparently the engine is blown on her 2007 car with 38,000 miles. I can find all but one oil change record, so the warranty is void. New engine costs $9k. I come home and do some research only to find this is an extremely common problem on her year and model. A faulty VVT causes the timing chain to fail prematurely. Has nothing to do with oil changes, but many of the dealerships are claiming sludge due to lack of maintenance. Here is the rest of the deal. Every time we have had the car in for oil changes they have reported sludge. Even when we change the oil at 3000 miles, (verses the manufactures recommendation of 7500 miles.) We have had the engine "flushed" a couple of times because of the reported sludge. It is pretty clear that I'm outta luck and the warranty or extended service plan wont cover the work. (flame) The really bad part is I have a truck on order that is supposed to be delivered next week. Now on top of the new truck purchase, I need to purchase another vehicle or fork out $9k to have her car fixed. Im torn between investing the $9k into a replacement or trying to fix that pile of garbage. Fortunately the car is paid off, so I wont have yard art that Im making payments on. Still though, we can afford one vehicle payment, but not two.
  13. No you cant relax. That is why you are getting so good at it. My sister is a professional photographer. She takes hundreds of photos every day, even when she isnt working.. She claims she needs to in order to improve her skill level.
  14. Eric. I'm impressed, you have some fantastic pictures in there.
  15. Everything is doing great. The Midas is chillin in our quarantine and I'm pretty stoked about it. It has quite the personality already - very bold and doesnt shy away when I have my hands in the tank. The Lubbocki wrasse colored up and is absolutely stunning. Cant wait to get it into the display. The McCoskeri is also much brighter and eating well. For anyone that hasn't delt with Garrett, you need to send him a PM. He doesn't charge nearly enough for the quality of the fish and corals that he has. Also a super cool guy. My wife and I drove two hours (with traffic) for a visit and I would do it again in a second. The Midas Blenny alone was worth the trip.
  16. Dan, You need to eliminate one variable at a time to determine the source of the problem. First, you need to frag them all in half. Then deliver half of them to me to put into my display. If they open in my tank, then it isn't a problem with the zoas. jk. I have some Kent iodine if you need some for dipping.
  17. My bad, I mis-read the post the first time. It is clear now. If you watch Marine Depot ads, they have the JBJ Duo on sale every once in a while for $29.99. That is when I bought mine. The power thing is slightly annoying, but it isn't hard to adjust to get it back right. I had another wavemaker that was the strip kind, but it was a pain to adjust the time interval and it seemed to reset itself about once a month. I cant remember the brand, but it was similar to the Zilla. It eventually burned out, thank goodness.
  18. Are they K4? or Evolution 1400s? I havent seen any Koralias refered too as 4 Evolutions. The reason I ask is that the newer evolutions are wavemaker compatible, but the older ones were not. The K4s seem to click like you are describing. I have two of the new Evolution 1400s and they are absolutely silent when they turn on. They are on the JBJ Ocean Pulse Duo wavemaker. So far it has been a good product. I have had it for several years. The only complaint is that when the power goes out, you have to reset the time interval because it will come back on with both pumps running.
  19. About 2 weeks ago I replaced two modded Maxi-jets with the Evolution 1400s. I have them on a JBJ Ocean Pulse wavemaker. So far they are awesome and I'm impressed. They are super quiet and I cant hear them start at all. Flow seems good. Im not sure if it is as much as the modded Maxis, but they start every time. I had problems with the Maxi jets running backwards or getting stuck. Time will tell if they hold up.
  20. moovinfast has a great DIY LED system over one of his tanks. It is here: http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15585
  21. That is one really sweet fish. It looks much better in person. My wife and I were there while you were picking it up. Too bad the other one didnt make it.
  22. You have to be a little careful with the peppermints. I bought 5 small ones to take care of my aptasia problem. They ate all the aptasia in a hurry, but once it was all gone, they took a liking to my Duncans. Wouldnt touch anything else, but killed two Duncan frags. I guess Duncans taste like aptasia?
  23. I just got in on the nano-reef buy. Just hope more people sign up, so we can get the extra EB8s. Thanks again jackaninny for posting the link. My wife is going to be mad though. I haven't told her that I subscribed to another "fish nerd forum". (laugh)
