  1. ok....follow the steps I just went through on the phone....I have a couple others to go through before we proceed to the steps posted above. Just keep me posted.
  2. Here.....I was going to basically type this out for you but here are some options for you. Do you have your windows 7 disk? Or you can bring your computer to me and I can do this for you....either way first ....can you boot into safe mode? Hit F8 when the computer is starting to get the menu. If so under Windows Advanced Boot options, select Safe mode and hit Enter. If you’re able to boot into Safe mode, then try rollback the recently updated drivers from the System Recovery Options. If not, then use the System Recovery options to rollback the recently updated drivers and check if you’re able to login to the computer successfully. Click on Start then type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.....this will bring up the device manager now Follow instructions on this link to restore drivers http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Restore-a-driver-to-its-previous-version If the restoration is successful, take out the DVD and restart the computer to check if you’re able to boot up normally. You can also run the check disk utility from the Windows Recovery Environment to check if that helps. 1. Put the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer. 2. Press a key when you are prompted. 3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next. 4. Click Repair your computer. 5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next. 6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box. Choose command prompt. 7. By default, you’ll see X:\sources in the command prompt. Press enter after typing each commands. Type C: then cd windows then cd system32 your line should look like C:\windows\system32 then type chkdsk /r so full string should be C:\windows\system32\chkdsk /r Note: Check Disk will try to fix the bad sectors on the hard disk. So data present on the bad sectors will be lost.
  3. We can also check into an "update" for your BIOS....I say it like that because it is a little different than an update as we would be flashing your BIOS.

  6. You should try that second link first before going through the read. But if that second link's update doesn't resolve this you should back up the data ASAP. I have 2....yes two TB drives so I am sure I can hold your data if you need storage space. I can also reload your windows and replace your apps if the need arises.

Upon completion of all required modifications, the user will be informed that the computer must be power cycled. This firmware update is a non-destructive update. User data is not affected. " and the cost if this works is $0.....hope this helps....if so your welcome.
  8. How old is the system? Typically I would recommend backing up your data ASAP as you are most likely going to need to replace the drive. However I have seen this get reported in error....meaning there is no actual problem.   9. That's why I got mine too....he did the deed in a matter of days....it has been 4 months since he was in my tank and my astrina's numbers aren't even close to what they were before.....

  14. no....it's just with setting up new tanks and making moves that I wont wait....even though with my current move into a new tank I am doing just that. All of my tank upgrades were completed from dry tank to fully loaded (corals, fish, and all) within around 3 hours from start.

  16. Gabe....nice pin out....although I prefer to see the white first....either way nice....but....he stated that he hooked up a laptop and it worked. At first I thought maybe he was using a cross cable. But I am trying to remember if the Xbox had a unique preferred pin out. I would ensure that the replaced cable matches the new cable as far as pin outs go....that would be my first place to check, then verify that the setting on the Xbox (ip settings) are refreshed.. The shorter cable. Change port on router.

Add the shrimp before the wrasse....I don't know if this will actually help but I have been in the logic of if it is weaker or potential food then adding it first will sometimes avoid the issues. For example....6 line wrasse....if he is the first fish in your tank you are most likely have issues when you add more....but if he is last you SHOULD be ok. I am going to refrain from answering the question of how long to wait. I don't wait, and I don't have problems BUT let the other more educated or experienced reefers here chime in for that one.
  19. 4g is plenty of RAM for what you use your computer for. In fact you could...again COULD try and pull a RAM chip out (with the power off) and boot up....see if it speeds up....if not put it back and pull the next and so on. It COULD be a faulting chip. But my initial thought is software related. A reload is an option as well.
  20. Very good suggestion here.....might not hurt to run a Belarc report either....will give idea of patches and updates installed to try and identify potential issues. Have you changed anything lately? Installed anything?
  21. 75 feet according to network cable standards is too long.....but those typically are guaranteed successful data transfer without packet loss. I could swing by and check it out if you want.

  23. I don't know....i have sharks now and I feed them live shrimp so I might have to pass ATM. I had coral in my tank the entire time I the Harli....never had a problem....but maybe I just got lucky. I did like him very much....very nice looking shrimp. Do you have a wrasse?

    wow is right....that is crazy....reminds me of a diamond goby I had for a while there.....I thought he jumped out or got eaten or something....like 3 months later I was working in my sump and low and behold there he was. Guess I am happy I had that super small amount of sand in there.
