  1. So on day 17. I have 10 babys. Made a graph, have some phone pictures. I have delayed metamorphis. But after my issues with this batch. I'm lucky to have any survived. Electrocuting them by accident and all. If you go to Facebook I'll have a video up on pnwmas.org page. Graph shows on what day I had what deaths. And why.
  2. But with the issues I had I did good. I'm shocked after they were electrocuted I have any
  3. Update. Percularis getting first stripes. After everything crashed some time or another during the frys life. And the heater going out postponing the metamorphis. And the tank getting electrocuted by the fallen light. I still have 10 babys. Day 15 I have learned most deaths happen at night during this batch. So I stopped letting them have a night time until after metamorphis is over. It seems to have stopped all deaths. Here's some pictures I took the other night.
  4. Caught my pensil urchin eating my clown eggs. Daddy clown all pissed and freaking out with nothing he can do. I tried air on the urch, power head, no budge. Couldn't find my Turkey baster. So finally I took a 10ml syringe and pressure blew him till the *as moved. I was going to hatch the babys tonight. Now half are eaten. Thinking I might wasnt to rehome him. To a non egg laying tank
  5. Im in Springfield. I'm selling live nanno phytoplankton. Also selling live Marine rotifers. Both great for your coral to munch on. Both home grown. $10.00 a bottle of phytoplankton $15.00 a bottle of marine rotifers high density
  6. Today going about same thru metamorphis. One death from baby brine shrimp egg. It was so sad.
  7. Heater in baby tank went out last. Woke up had two clown losses. Tank stands normally at 80°F. Last night dropped to 69°F. Hurried and slowly added parents tank water to baby tank to raise temperature. Dripped in of course. Went out got new eheim heater. Covered light with tape. Walla seems to be happy clowns again. Only managed to hatch a few brine today so another day of flakes. But I got my brine shrimp mix in mail today. So hurried to get it going. Hopefully tomorrow I will be rolling in baby brine. Clowns are metamorphis. Will take a few days. Below picture or dead baby I lost last night. Its folded so not best picture. But you can see his orange coming
  8. Clownfish day 10. Ran out of baby brine shrimp. Had a defected batch of eggs. Ordered more. Clowns still eating rotifers and some eating flake food. Clowns have fat tummys. Body's starting to round up like a mini clown. No signs of stripe yet. Awaiting next step in metamorphis. In picture below mine look like day 9. Stripe should show up next.
  9. I'm going to be interesting to see baby percularis because mom has black in her and so does dad. So thinking I'm going to have darker ones. Genetically they can produce standard babys, or ones with more white or more black. No matter what I'll love them.
  10. I also have another set of eggs. Got a grow out tank ready so I can move them after metamorphis. Then start next batch
  11. I opened the side today And counted I have 15
  12. Night 9. Went to shut off replacement light fixture and I dumped it into my baby tank. Luckily I ripped it out quickly. And unplugged it of course. No losses at this time. Thank god. Went to Walmart bought a led desk lamp. That's height adjustable. Seems to work well. Now that wont happen again. But what a panic. . Heart attack..
  13. Day 9. Turns out I had more clowns than I knew about. So yeah me.. after alot of issues, my rotifers and green water is going strong. So next batch I should get alot more. Some of the babys are eating flake food now. Finely ground to go thru my brine shrimp sieve. And all are eating baby brine shrimp. I can tell they are going after the shrimp because their tummys are pink now not silver. Not the best pictures, but here they are. Also water is green from my green water in it. So the food doesnt starve. Also so my babys can see the food better. The specs in pictures are rotifers.
  14. My clown parents laid a batch last night. So if these guys meta soon I'll put them in grow out and restart. I have two 5 gallons of rotifers going now And green water. So next batch as long as temp during day doesn't get Bad would be ok.
  15. Mainly with clowns it's a food problem. My clowns are eating brine now and prepping for metamorphis. I will have a dozen or so after that I think.
  16. I lost a baby today from adding baby brine shrimp. Today was day 6. Here's a pic. As you can see bbs was cause if you see red bloody tummy. Probably a shell. Pics taken with my new phone microscope. Also yesterday and today I offered pestol and mortared seachem flake food. A few checking out flakes but still learning.
  17. Mistake what ever number added. Clowns fry dont eat as much when under actnic. Lost a few to starvation. Best to use plain small white clip on light. Also my led went out today. On positive note. I had it since 2010 when they first came out. So I think I got my money's worth. Switch to a nano compact florence. Until I can get to store to buy lamp
  18. So far with these clown fry. Mistakes. Mind you I havent breed since 2011 I pulled them out of tank too early so the eggs got fungus. So out of my already small clutch i lost half the eggs. Note to self percularis take longer to hatch than other clowns. Day 9 and 10. Not 7 and 8. My rotifer green water came clear. So I had rotifer crash due to lack of food. Restarted My rotifer specific gravity in one bucket spiked and it crashed. Restarted My rotifer heater in my other bucket coppered them. Had to restart both buckets. My clowns fry are living on limited rations. I sucked up 4 clowns in a water change, then accidentally tipped the bucket on the garage floor. Alot of clown sied cause they didnt learn to Hunt food, but part of that was because I didnt put in enough rotifers due to lack of them I've lost by day four about 20 baby clowns. I started with about estimates 45. A series of unfortunate events. Next time this won't happen again. Pn positive note my green water is doing great and rotifers are stating to breed again.
  19. So I got my 4th bottle going today. And second 5 gallon bucket of rotifers. I think I'm the only local in Springfield with salt rotifers and green water.

    Clown fry

So these are percularis. Mom percula dad ocelarius. Day two on most my clown fry. Hatched on day 9 after layed Day 4 for 5 fry in there(they hatched early) So far no losses. Took out rock today that babys were layed on. and did water change to clean up rock debris. I feed rotifers three times a day. Fed on green water
  21. Split my first bottle of green water today (On right). Now I have three bottles started for my rotifers. Just need to start on more bottle. Nanno phytoplayton. First picture is of how it looks today. Second picture is how its first bottle looked when I started it a few days ago, to how it is today after its split. I'm using f2 phytoplankton fertilizer. And two bulb LEDs 3 ft fixture. 18 hour light cycle.

    Clown eggs

Night 9 alot of eggs hatched. Percularis seem to take three days longer to hatch than maroons and Tomatos clown. Seem to be small fry too

    Clown eggs

Oh and I did a slight water change to clean bottom of fry tank today too. But almost took nothing out. Dripping water back in for last hour now. One drop at a time

    Clown eggs

percularis are hatching abnormally. Yesterday I had two during the day hatch, and three this morning hatch. Rest of clutch still haven't. Not sure what going on. I have rotifers in tank with babys but havent seen much tail kinking lunging. This is my weirdest clutch. I'm concerned. My green water came clear and dead. Tried calling premium aquarium but their phone isnt working. So I emailed them. I know they are moving though. I just pray they have phytoplankton, or help me find some.
