  1. I have heard a lot of good things about this guy (Charlie) as well from a different Forum.
  2. Well the Ballast is working fine? Any suggestions on a backup in the future? What is the difference between Lumatek and Galaxy?
  3. I would say their is no way a two MP10 will be enough. Not because bigger is better. These things work different than a traditional powerhead in the sense they creat a crazy undertow. So the entire tank is effected not just the direction the Powerhead is pointing. Hope this makes sense? I have two MP 40's (running at 3/4) and a mag 18 as a return on a 4' tank (120) and I feel it's perfect. You can just buy one at a time to lesson the pain.
  4. refugium looks sweet. Is it also hooked to a DT?
  5. I have a Blue Wave 7 (2x250) running Phoenix 14k. I run MH about 6 hours a day. Last night the Ballast shut off 5 hours into the light cycle. This is the first time this has happened. I do run it off a Coralife timer? I'm going to plug directly into the wall and get it off the carpet. We'll see what happens today but if this happens again I'll be looking for a new Ballast. Any suggestions? Looking at another Blue Wave 7, Lumatek, or PFO
  6. PM'ed you yesterday. Is it still available? Thanks, Trent

Your tank looks sweet man. I hope mine looks half that good in a year or so. I will have lots of questions for you though.
  8. Aaron is a cool guy. Has hooked me up a few times.

    150 gallon sump?

Quick update, went with 1 1/2 Bulkhead for return. Had to make existing hole larger. Placed on rolling platform just incase I have to move it. Filled and waiting on water test. A few pictures. Will finish sometime next week. I may order 100 lbs of rock and cycle the rock before making it a usable sump. As for the inlet bulkheads should I go with two 1" or one 1 1/2? These will be placed on the back wall (when looking at picture)? From tank to sump will be approximately 20'
  10. I was into FW for about 15 years before SW. Here are a few pic. Sorry about the bad shots. My 210 Calvus/ Comp Crawdad Fluval planted 40B planted with EBJD
  11. Frank, nice video. Wish I was closer. GL with your sale.
  12. My return is a mag 18 with two MP40's and 2 feet less of tank space. I think it's perfect. I'm sure you can get away with one but two would be much better.(naughty) i'm sure others will chime in. "I don't plan on doing much SPS, maybe some milli's and monti's but that's it." You do have a history of changing your mind. Just sayin. (whistle)

    150 gallon sump?

Thats all I needed. The build will start. Post picture when finished. (rock2) thanks
  14. I vote two MP40W ES. You will not regret it. I have two on a standard 120 (4x2x2). This is my favorite piece of equipment. I run mine on Crest mode. And the feed mode rocks. Look for a used pair on RC. Seems like their are a ton right now for sale.
  15. I have a new 150 gallon rubbermaid stock tank that I wanted to make into a sump. It would be placed in the garage (we don't park in their). I have a 120 mixed DT that I would run to the 150 gallon sump. This would cut down on noise, WC in the house, cleaner look and keep parameters more stable. Good idea or overkill? Thanks
  16. I only run my MH 6.5 hours a day right now should I go with a min. of 8 or see how they do and go from their? I do have some BRS Two Part on hand. Was going to dose daily when needed then buy a dosing pump or Ca reactor down the road.
  17. I guess that info would be needed as well.DOH! My bad! 120 gallon setup sump w/ AquaC EV-180 skimmer 2x250 Phoenix 14K, 2xATI True Actinic 2x Vortech MP40w 2x firefish Red Scooter Mandrin Clown
