Woo! good to see they are doing well. Should look awesome in that pico once grown out a bit!

  2. now that you've had it up aand running for a while was curious about the black sand how is that working out for you? Was thinking of using it in my next build.. since I really like the briter colors was interested if you noticed the colors on yours pop out more and how is it for clearing?

thanks any input would be welcome

I really like the black sand. It hasn't 'salt n peppered' as much as I thought it would, and I love the different look and the way it makes certain corals pop and stand out. I will probably keep up with the black sand for my next tank as well. I think it hides other algae and stuff a bit better than normal 'white' sand also. But if you are meticulous about anything not purely black being in the sand it may drive you crazy. Both are definitely cool, but if you want to try out something different, go black! Not saying once you do you will 'never go back' but its definitely fun so far haha.

  3. If a mod wants to get me this guys IP address I would make sure his computer never works again... Its really pissing me off.

  5. Alright guys, I am on the market for a Traeger and the lil tex looks to be about the right size. Anyone have any opinion as to if the price from the lil tex to the lil tex elite is worth it? I am seeing a color change and wheels being different. Am I missing something?

  6. Look into LEDs also. For around the same price point you could get a sweet fixture that will also be easier than halides on the electric bill. I know some guys in the area are having good luck with the Reefstar lights, maybe start looking into those. I am sure Garrett would be a great guy to talk to about LEDs as an option as well

  7. Ok so a couple days later, the clam seems to still be doing fine. Getting used to the tank, opening up more and more, and still reacts and closes every time someone walks by. Here is a picture I snapped today. I am planning on doing about a 30-40% water change here this evening as well.
