To me its the challenge. Its near impossible to kill most softies, anemones, etc, but SPS will put hair on your chest, and gray hairs on your head!

And IMO nothing looks better than a fully grown out tank full of sps. I still do prefer a mix of all of them though if possible, I like to have some of the movement and colors of LPS mixed in here and there.

This. Shims are cheap, no reason not to throw more under there that I can think of.

I'll start. I just placed my order for the Vertex Omega 180i Protein Skimmer from BRS. Couldn't talk myself out of the $319 (-$5 random coupon code I found online, plus free shipping). Not bad for a skimmer that's normally $499.

If I can break away from the family today I would love to get down to some local shops and talk myself into some livestock...that could get dangerous!

Would you be interested in trading for a large (4") damsel who is fat and healthy? He has a black body with some fluorescent blue stripes and a yellow spot just ahead of his dorsal fin. He has been chasing some of my smaller fish and stressing them out. He eats like a horse when given the opportunity.

I'll have to hold off on the damsel though, I plan on adding some smaller fish along with the few I have pretty soon to the display so I'd be a bit worried his chasing tendencies would transfer over. You are real close to me though, let me know if you ever need any frags or anything.

I would have to start dosing Mountain Dew and find some Cheetos flavored fish food.
