  1. Anyone suggestions on helping this scoly recover?

I went out of town for 2 weeks and didn’t get my weekly water change in for about 3 weeks and nitrates got as high as 35ppm.

All the other corals are fine, except some did brown out a bit from the nitrates, including the adjacent scoly. Others seemed to thrive on the higher nitrate. Growth rate overall was great while I was gone. I’ve been back for two weeks now almost, and did a 15% gallon water change last week and a 15% gallon water change this week.

    nitrate 16ppm

    phophate 0ppm

    alk 7.5

    calcium 280

    sg 35ppm
    ammonia alert reads normal

alk and ca are low because I was out of town and the DOS fell behind

  2. My koralin reactor that I bought second hand (so it’s not new) has SS screws that hold the top and bottom on. The hardware looked fine when I installed it. But it’s rusting now after a couple months and starting to cause concern. There are screws on the bottom, but need to check if they are rusting as fast as the ones on top that are pictured here. I think out of the water where there is o2 and humidity might cause rust to grow faster than underwater? Or could this be low quality stainless? Never seen rust like this before.

edit: somehow fat fingered the dog into the post. I guess I’ll leave that 😂

  3. Amazing. Take my $$$!!

I hear sometimes injuring the coral can cause a growth spurt. Not sure why they don’t grow like that for so long.

  4. I have a waterbox 50 for sale. It can come with a metal stand (not a waterbox stand).

It has a small chips on one corner but the glass is in otherwise great condition. Happy to fill it for you to see in operation.

Thinking $250 for tank only. The stand was $80 so maybe $50 for the stand? I’ll post pics soon.
