  1. Thanks Holly. What are they all? I recognize the copper banded butterfly, and the angel.
  2. If you decide to bring them up to P-town. I am interested in one. I just need to find a "host" for it until my tank is mature enough for animals.

Actually in most states if you are poor enough you have the best health care there is besides in the government.

Saying insureance companies have kept doctors prices in check, is like saying murders are helping to keep the population levels undercontrol. Backwards thinking. Insurance companies tell doctors how much they are going to get from the insureance company. They don't keep the doctors prices inline, they dictate them. Try this sometime just for giggles. Call you doctor, ask him how much he will charge you for a visit if you pay him CASH, and not involved the insurance company. I can almost guarentee you it is less then he will charge the insurance company. Why? Because off all the crap he has to go through to get paid by the insurance company. Also how is it Phizer or Bayer, or other large drug companies, can afford to sell their medication in Canada, Mexico, and other contries, at a fraction of the price it costs here? That doesn't seem to be undercontrol by the insureance companies. It they really needed that much to make a profit, it wouldn't be cheeper elsewhere.
  5. Garrett, Wish I still had 2X75 gallon tanks to trade you. LOL.

    Sicko

The problem with health care in our country is that is has been taken hostage by insurance companies, and the Federal Government. To fix it we need to utilize HSA's and other similar options. This will return the power in healthcare to the comsumer, and away from those that profit from the current system. This can be done by giving the same or better tax benefits to companies who contribute to a employees HSA, as they get for purchasing "regular" healthcare benefits. There are people who wouldn't benfit from this, and those people should still be allowed to have regular healthcare insurance. It would take a couple of decades to get the transition completed, but meanwhile people are suffering, and if we wait more people will suffer.
  7. NEWBY ALERT!!! What does BTA stand for?
  8. I got these heater in a package deal a while back. They are both Coralife brand. Any idea hot powerful the heaters are, or how I can tell? Are they SW safe or how I can tell. Finally, should I use the UV Sterilizer on a reef tank? If so where is the most common place "in line" to put it?
  9. I have this light that I am willing to sell seperate from the 29 Gallon set up listed below. It is the lamp in the other add. If this sells I will delete/alter the other add. Comes with one 65W bulb but will hold two. Asking $50, will entertain offers. No trades please on this one.
  10. Why not put it in the Classified threads, first person to come get it gets it for free? That way it doesn't get "punished" for doing what is designed to do.

    Overflows

I assume like everything else in the aquarium hobby, bigger is better. Same assumption?
  12. Jay, When you say fish, do you mean corals and other SW/Reef inhabitants as well?
  13. To paraphrase an old addage, "Moving water, grows no algae"
  14. You will need to make sure that the pics submitted are the property of the person submitting them. I know that sound obvious, but trust me it isn't always.
  15. Perhaps this has been discussed before, but I think it would be great if the site had a section for IDing fish and other topic related animals. I know that many of the reef inhabitants can't be positively IDed, but even a general/common name would help. There would have to be rules, and organization involved but couldn't be to hard, I don't imagine.

    Overflows

I have been looking at various different overflows. One that caught my eye was the ones made by Creative Plastic Research, CPR. Is anyone using these here? What do you think of them. I have heard they have some problems that can be solved pretty easily. What others are people using, and what do you like about them? What do you wish was different?
  17. To expensive? Feel free to make an offer, this is still available.
  18. As a new member to this forum, I find this aggressive behaviour disconserting. If you have an issue with "reefgeek84" then you should email him. If he doesn't answer you, then confront in private. At this point all I can think is that I hope I don't want to do anything that involves Elmo18. He apparently publically shares problems that don't involve him, with everyone else he can come into contact with. If I wasn't as old as I am, I might be offended, and assume "everyone" in the group is this way. This is not the way we need to introduce ourselves to the new people to our hobby, or this group. Now I am not currently a PNWMAS member, and I know my opinion will probably be disreguaded as such by many because of that fact. But let me state, that I have held offices in other similar clubs, and this type of behaviour, causes more problems than it could ever fix. It is quite possible that there is more to story than is posted on this forum or the one where it originated. I sell consumable things to people everyday, sometimes people take advantage of the fact that the things I sell are consumable and steal them. So I know that that scenario is possible, but the other scenario is possible also. Perhaps the "complaintant" isn't sharing what has trianspired between him and "reefgeek84", is it worth the division that this causes, smearing his name all over the forum? I refer back to my personal history, and say "No, not at all" Mods, I ask that you close/lock this thread, or delete it, and do so to any similar thread about this issue. It truely only involves two people, and until "elmo18" can show that "reefgeek84" caused damage to some other party, it doesn't need to be shared with the rest of this wonderful group. Sincerely,
  19. Thanks everyone, Its wonderful to hear. I want to use my tank as an education tool. I want to keep as many animals from different groups as possible. What are some other unusual things people are keeping?
  20. My appoligies if this is miscatagorised. I couldn't find anywhere else that would fit. Is is possible, and feasible to keep sponges in a reef aquarium? All you jokesters, I mean the living animal(s), not the scrub pads. If so what kinds are forum members keeping?
  21. Michael, Pic is included now. Thanks for the heads up. Also added that it comes with a heater.
  22. This set up is great. It includes a 24 inch compact flourescent light that can hold 2 65W/55W bulbs. Currently only has one bulb. Also included are stand, and matching hood. If you want I will even through in a 10 gallon tank you can turn into a sump, and a 150 Watt Ebo-Jager (yes a green one) The tank in the picture isn't drilled but I have several 29 gallon tanks, so if you want one that is drilled I can replace the one in the pic with a drilled one. I also have a couple that are painted blue on the back, and could replace with that also. (Might have one that is painted and drilled) Asking $150, will consier all offers.
