Socialized medicine isn't free. You just don't pay for it like we do now. You pay in higher taxes, slower service, and rationed medicine.
When my dad was stationed in Australia when I was a child, I got so sick that after a year of seeing military doctors, I had to be flown down to Perth to see a specialist. Upon arriving at the doctors office, he told my mother, that if I wasn't an American citizen of American parents, he would make me a ward of the state. (Not his exact words, but you get the idea)
The Australian doctor treated me and 2 weeks later, I was well. After a year of being sick. That is how the US Government runs healthcare.
