Wow Mike!
Looks great. Now on with the system pics
-
Well, I have had alot of tire-kickers, but nothing solid. I also have an optional lighting setup.
You can do the setup above with MH/PC actinics for $550, or downgrade on the lighting a little bit. I have an Orbit 2x40w PC fixture that fits perfect on this tank.
Without the MH setup and with the PC Orbit fixture I can do $400
So $550 with MH.
$400 with PC.

Sold!
Hope it works well for you madmike.

Nice looking tank and those mushrooms are great looking. What type are they? Those would be better than a anemonie in a sps tank. Pics are awsome looking to! Thanks for sharing.

WOW!
Nice livestock, and even better pics!
FTS?

save it for awhile and if I get a chance, maybe I could help you fix it.
Back to taxes, what are you going to do with your rebate this summer? I'll probably spend it on a riding trip, or to help buy a quad for my daughter.
-
Pssssh! You guys are slackers! My refund came and went. I didn't get to buy tank stuff though.
Jeff,
Try Weld-on 16, or epoxy(green/white). It works much better than silicone.

I'm almost ready to set up my 90g, so my 30g is for sale.
Details: The tank is set up to be anemone proof (no closed loops, or powerheads)
I drilled a hole in the upper corner and attached an overflow box(black) for the sump drain. So I would consider it reef-ready. The overflow does not gurgle. It has a external durso pipe for silencing. The back of the tank is painted black.
The stand is the original one that I bought with the tank. It has a tinted glass door. Light maple color.
I had a sump custom made for the stand. I think it is 18" x 18" x 16" tall. It has a filter sock holder, and a good sized compartment for a skimmer. I have ran multiple different skimmers in this sump. Never had a problem with micro bubbles either. There is also a float valve for topoff.
There is a Mag 9.5 for the return pump, which is hooked up to a SCWD , and 2 LOC-LINE outputs in the tank which cycle about every 10 seconds.
I also have a 150w heater for the sump, which was only needed for 2 months in the winter.
This tank ran very well and had good flow with just the return pump, I never had an anemone get caught in the overflow either.
I hand made a canopy to accommodate for MH lighting. The whole front of the canopy is on a hinge so you can just lift it up, and you can easily access anything in the tank. It looks hand made, but it is definitely presentable.
The canopy has 2 36w PC actinics(the only ones that will fit on a 20" wide tank). It also has a 250w MH setup with a Reeflux 12k bulb. All bulbs were replaced 5 months ago, and have plenty of life left. The MH reflector is a spider reflector(gull wing style). There is also a 6" fan for cooling. I ran this all summer long and my temperature never exceeded 82 degrees.
I want $550 for the setup.
I may consider parting out if I can get some reasonable offers. I can also add items too. I'm not real intent on selling my euroreef skimmer with it, but for the right price I may. I can also add some nice live rock for $3 per lb.
Will try to get some pics up too, but I need to borrow a camera. Mine is broken.
Thanks!

If mike does not take it let me know. I have been trying to buy it for months from Pat.
Dave
Hi Dave,
Money talks.

I call dibs,lol
I am very interested...going to look at it today. Would you be willing to trade for a new reeflo dart?
Mike
If you have $300 you can call dibs LOL!
Has the Dart ever been used?

Well, the plan for the basement sump is out. Wife wasn't too thrilled.
I have to sell my sump.
It's dimensions are 72" x 24" x 24" made from 1/2" acrylic. I'm pretty sure it was one of the few sumps built by James @ Envision Acrylics. It is about 5 years old.
There are 3 openings in the top, like most display tanks.
There are 2 holes drilled into the return compartment. 1 is for a 1" bulkhead, the other is for a 1.5" bulkhead. If I can find the bulkheads I will include them.
Can't take pics right now. If you want to see it, it is at Saltwater Fanta-seas across from the 4 foot cube tank.
First one with $300 takes it.
Would consider trades on a few items (lumenarc mini, Reeflo Dart, Eheim 1262, 250w HQI ballast)
Thanks,
Jon

Preferably a dart, but possibly an Ampmaster 3000/3600.
Whatcha got?

Im very interested in some of the Rods food Mike. This stuff is awesome!! Put me down for 2.
Can the mods clean this up a little bit so we can figure out who wants Rods Food? Can we start a separate thread for Pats stuff? Im sure its great and all but this is a thread about something else.
PS-If Patricks is as great as everyone says I think Pat should start packaging it up and selling it because he can make a ton of $$$$$$$$$ this stuff if its better than Rods
Like I said in my original post, this should be about Rods food. Sorry Uhuru.
There are a few people suggesting to try out something that is local. It may or may not be better than Rods, but it can't hurt to give it a try. You would also be supporting a site Sponsor. Nobody has claimed that it is better than rods, but it is good food.
-
I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to ship some to you.

I don't know what Patrick Gumbo is. But I'm willing to try it. I'd be interested to get it. Where do I pick it up?
Saltwater fanta-seas
106th & Sandy blvd.

Yeah I think the best thing would be if we knew what was in Pat's Gumbo. Does he use fresh or frozen seafood? Rod's food feeds both fish and corals. If they are different I wouldn't mind getting both to be honest. My corals are hungry!
It's fresh.
I'll work on patrick to see if we could post a list of the ingredients.
-
Oh - you mean like this?
Nope.
Recipe's usually include amounts.(crazy)
-
Can someone' date=' maybe Patrick, list all the ingredients that are in his "gumbo"? And what's the price and for what amount?[/quote']
I'll post it when Rod posts his recipe. (probably not gonna happen)
I think it works out to about 12oz. for $15.
-
Patricks food has EVERYTHING in it. Just about.
I have helped make Pat's Gumbo, and no expense is spared. I don't think he charges enough for it, but I don't complain.
But this is about Rods food. I haven't tried it. I'm not sure I would at $20 for 6oz. I'm sure it's great food though.

DANG! how did I miss these pics. The fishroom turned out great!
I like the convict too. Is the other one a Kole, or a Tomini?
-
I voted Envision, although technically I'm still running my Oceanic 30.
I brought home my 3' x 2' x 2' 90g yesterday. Trying to get it running by spring break.
LOL Scott! You just downsized to a 30g from a 90g and I'm doing the opposite.

Anthony CALFO!

Nice' date=' those are good readings! I love the killawatt, i go around the house just looking for stuff to test (laugh)[/quote']
LOL me too, My wife thinks I'm a dork.
-
No pics yet, but I did get my air meter and kill-a-watt. I'm pretty happy with my results.
Stock, The Sedra 3500 pulls 420LPH.
My modified 3500 is pulling 480-540LPH with the stock needle wheel. The ball on my meter bounces from 8-10 LPM but most of the time it's at around 8.5 LPM.
27 watts.
Hopefully I can get some pics up by this weekend.

Ditto!
The craftsmanship of my 90g is 2nd to none!
Thanks for making such works of art James!
