  1. Can you post up a list of the competitors. Also what is the time limit on this brown bomber color up grow out? I can come by tomorrow and pick up frag. Let me know when the is best time to do so. Thanks James!
  2. That's awesome! I am thinking the trick will be to start with a very small frag and get it to blue up then hopefully as it grows, the color will stay. The challenge is on. I may have to participate in this one as well...
  3. Brett- If you cannot find this locally, I mean through Jody, let me know and I'll ask Greg C if he has any he can ship up.
  4. Regarding clams exposed to air - check this out:
  5. All pm's replied to. Still some nice stuff to be had here.
  6. Some background on this coral: This colony came from OIAB. This was in one of those tubs prior to them being taken down. Cos claimed that this brown turd sps could/would not color up so I took the challenge and took it home. This sat in my cube for 2-3months resuming the poop color you see. After a while, the tips became blue in my tank and the coral doubled in size - but never colored other than the blue tips. I gave up on it after 5 months (under 250w radium) and took it into Nick's while working there, and the next day I came in this coral was gone. James, it's a true LE turd colored sps coral. It liked high flow and light and grew fast in these conditions. I will follow this thread to see how this thing progresses. I am curious to see if anyone can get the blue tips back on it.
  7. Good stuff here Roy. I have been maintaining clams as a "bio filter" as well. Looking to do some clams experiments as well.
  8. Easy peasy Brad, problem solved! Just bag up that nice maxima clam off of your sand bed and bring it with you when you come to pick this coral up. Now you have a great place for the Acantho - and I have a new clam. Problem solved
  9. These are in my 125 that has a nutrient issue and I am going to strip it, so these corals need to go. I have priced these to move as I want them gone before the weekend so I can CLEAN out my tank. Not interested in trades - unless we are talking clams Orange florescent pavona maldevensis 5" $50 Green and yellow Duncan 10+ heads $40 Green and yellow rhodactis shrooms 30+ $30
  10. That loripes colony is awesome! Also, what is the pink-ish w/ blue tips bottle brush acro on the top pic of post #47 above? It's in the top center of that pic...
  11. Nice light loving gorgonian Roy! You do know that at $25 for it, you are giving it away. A search on LA aquacultured DD has a 1" piece for $100 (link here)... Thought you should know before you give this away
  12. Hey Chris- Running ULNS, do you see decent growth on your crocea clam?
  13. Thanks Kim! Your welcome to come and see it yourself I wished I still had that elegance, pink and green LT plate, maxima clam and gonipora. Although these would not fit in my current tank
  14. Thanks man! I am glad you came by to check it out and you'll have to keep me posted on those frags Thanks Matt!
