They look to be a nice palyathoa. I like em, but just make sure they don't take over. They grow like weeds but sure are cool. Of course, they could be some morph of rock anemone. Either way, if they stay under control, I would enjoy them. Garrett

As long as the pipe exits below the water line in your sump you should have almost no problem. Make sure it exits below the water line into a filter sock and you should have a silent return back to the sump. Flexi hose might help if your want to add a few more inches for the hose to exit into the sump and sock. Good Luck, Garrett

Coral Reef Pet Center and Advanced Aquarium are really the only sources that I feel comfortable giving my business to. They beet out internet sources almost every time, in nearly everyway I can think of. Everytime I have needed anything, one of these two stores(or the collaboration of both) have been able to help me. I simply ask them to order it and bam, in no time at all it is there. I had a hugely sucessful 90gallon setup with much help from CRPC and AA. I am currently working on a 210 gallon set up, in which the tank was ordered (arrived extemely quick) from Jason at CRPC. The chiller and skimmer I got from Ryan at AA. The whole tank is coming together well and I couldn't have done it without these guys. Heck, I was shocked when I went in to buy some nice argonite sand over at Jasons shop and he only had live sand. This isn't the shocker. He calls up Ryan, who was supposed to be closed on a Tuesday and asks him if he still had a bunch of it in. Ryan said yes, and said that if I came over, he would have 200lbs waiting. So with Jasons call and Ryans sand, my tank is looking great and I havn't even added the good stuff from the 90 gallon yet. That is what I call customer service! I also like to do some trades with other reefers now and again to keep the diversity and hobby more than interesting. On a side note, Jeffery, over at Saltwater Fantasy in Salem, is purchasing the store. He is planning on doing some major improvments on the store and will likely carry some stuff that may be of interest in the future. Keep an eye out for progress in July. I have purchased a nice used PFO metal halide ballast from him before, and he seems to be a real decent guy. Good luck, Garrett

Very nice set up. I love the fish and the corals! The thing that is suprising is that its only a 10g tank and yet even with 10lbs of rock, there seems to be plenty of room for more. I like it!

My process all depends on where I get the fish or invert from. I usually float for about 15-20min, then I add about 1/2cup of water from tank and then float for another 5 min. Then I take a close look at the new item to make sure there is no unwanted side affects. If not, another half cup and wait a couple of minutes. A net to make sure no crap water gets in my system and all done. If they are specimens with any question of health or disease, I will quarantine or not buy them at all. I also will occasionally resort to a fresh water dip of coral specimines if they look suspicious. I know many people who will just foat for a few minutes and dump the fish in. This works fine most of the time, but I prefer as low a stress situation as possible.

That is quite amazing! He really does do a great job helping when it is needed. I am loving the skimmer I just got from him. It foams real nice after a couple of mods, actually it the most amazing bubble making machine I have seen. LOL. GO RPS-3000

You might be able to just throw some chaetomorpha(I think thats how its spelled) in there near the front, below the bio balls. I would take those out and replace them with a good amount of real porous live rock. IMO that will do a better job of keeping your system nice and clean. Other than that, you may need to drill your sump to accomidate a second setup for your refugium. That shouldn't be to hard and will alow you to better control flow and the types of plants, algaes and animals you want in the fuge. Plus this will add a high volume of water to your system and help with clean water and overall bio load. Anyway good luck and i like the sump you have, it looks nice and clean.

I am actually just getting ready to move everything up to Salem. I just got the 210 and the 90 is in the process of being torn down. After a couple of months with the 210 set up and making sure everything is doing good in the new system, I would be down for trading. Yah, the chiller was a killer deal. The lowest price I found on it was like 1250 and it usually goes for between 1400 and 1600. I think it might be a bit overkill though! Oh well, rather it be way to much than even a little to little. You know, when I first started this hobby I had a very similar craving to fill up my tank asap. I have learned to be patient, but only to a degree. What the others have said is so true. Besides your tank will look much better with a larger number of corals in it then fish. For your tank size, I would only add at max another 6 or so fish. Go down to Jasons and pick out a couple at a time. Slowly aclimate them into your tank together and wait a couple of weeks for your system get back to its normal balance. Then you can repeat the process. I also like to wait until he gets the really exciting fish in. This comes periodically, so you will have to check in every week and ask him when he is going to be getting some more in. Summer is upon us which means high availability and low demand. I actually got an incredible deal on it. I purchased an RPS-3000 skimmer at the same time. The chiller cost me $500 and the skimmer was $225. Both were great deals and I thank Ryan and Roger for their help in getting this tank chilled and keeping it clean.

I would go for it. Just make sure that the flow doesn't disturb the delicate nature of the refugium life. Maybe design some baffles to help direct flow. Sounds like a good idea and fuges are fun!

Well guys I am no longer in need of a chiller. I picked up a Pacific Coast C-1000 from Advanced Aquarium down in Salem today. Thanks for all the helpful advice.

I am pretty sure that they are breeding. The central disc on the top of many stars is the site of sexual exchange. Did any of you guys see a puff of stuff in the water around either of the stars at any point? Who knows maybe little babies will just pop up one day.You guys will definetaly have to sell me a couple if so. LOL. I just wish it were easier to keep the little niderian babies alive so that we could propigate these things. Anyways awesome find!!!! And to you star fish, try to keep that business under the sand. For the sake of the children, jeeze!

This might be too big, but I will have a 90g here real soon. I am setting up a 210g and am no longer going to need the 90g. It comes with a black stand and black custom built hood for your custom lighting. I use 2x 400w metal halides and 4x 110w vho which work great. It also comes with the overflow box, so all you need to get started is the lighting and a sump. The tank and stand are made by all glass. I prefer a modern all black look myself which is what this system is done in. If you are intersted let me know. I am asking $700, but am flexible. Thanks guys, I checked with him today. I think I might just try and check craigslist and look around for a bit. Jason can get a great deal for me if that fails. I have a week or so to look, so hopefully something will turn up if not I am going to have Jason grab me one. Should probably just get it from him accept the funds are getting low and hopefully I can find something for around $300.

Hello everyone, I am looking to purchase a chiller for my new 210 gallon tank. I just got the stand all built and am working on teh plumbing and need to get a chiller so I can plumb it all in. If anyone has one in the 1/4-1/2hp range that they are looking to get rid of let me know. I don't have a ton of money, but know that these things aren't cheap. Thanks for your help and interest.
