Barelycuda's ever evolving clownfish system
ThePremiumAquarium replied to Barelycuda's topic in Tank Threads
Super nice. You are giving me lots of good ideas for my plumbing ventures. Great work and keep those pics coming. Garrett -
I am really sorry for your loss. A few years back my family lost a Welsh Corgey named Haley. She was my first dog and was a wonderful one. she sufficated in a Dorritos bag. At least she died doing what she liked best. Eating. She cleaned the whole thing out(it was just opened and was one of those costco bags) and was searching for more when she realized she couldn't get back out. She just had too short of legs. Bless hers little heart. Garrett

3 slightly used 175w ARO halide ballasts...70.00
ThePremiumAquarium replied to reefgeek84's topic in Classified Threads
Is this for all 3? Garrett -
It is fine, but I like it alot. Its really nice stuff. I have 200lbs of that along with another 100-150lbs of the Carribean live sand that is larger in grain size. Both are nice and serve different purposes in the tank. Many inhabitants seem to like the finer sand while others like the courser stuff. As far as blowing around the tank, I havn't had any problems. I will however say that you need to rinse the stuff 10 times before adding it to your tank. It will still be clowdy, but your protein skimmer will take alot of that clowdyness away within a couple of days. Make sure and clean the skimmer and collection cup alot during the initial stages. If you can find the sand, it is great stuff. Best bang for the buck and works wonderful. Make sure and rinse it really really good. Garrett

Thanks for the frags today. I am going to have to come in a see you guys in a while and grab some more stuff. I am very impressed with your two display tanks! Garrett

I would love to buy it, I just don't have enough cash saved yet. If it is still hear in a couple of weeks I might be able to grab it.

I got her under my 400w MH radium and xms with VHO actinic suplimentation and she has been doing great. I think she likes the light as she is out fully inflated all day. I don't think you will have a problem with your lighting. Should be really good for her. Garrett

Totally agree. Jason is an awesome guy and he has one of the best shops you will ever see. Great corals too. You must stop buy The Coral Reef Pet Center. P.S. Let me know what you think Garrett

I would be willing to help do some maintanence on local tanks if this thing pulls through. I think getting children interested in the reef my be one of the best ways to save it. I also may have some frags to donate to a couple of tanks after not to long. Garrett

Thanks for posting the pictures. I will show my friend them and see what he thinks. Looks like a great set up. Garrett

I would like to send a big thanks out to Kevin! We met up today to trade some frags from my tank for a dual MH ballast he had hanging around. Well not only did he bring the ballast, but he also brought 2 moguls, a bulb, and 3 really nice size and very nice colored zoanthid frags to me. What an amazing guy. I wasn't expecting anything but an old ballast, and I got a nice ballast with lots of other goodies too. I really hope you enjoy those frags Kevin. I would have brought way more if I new what you were bringing. (clap) Definately consider your transactions with this guy as positive before you ever even meet him. A++++++ Thanks again, Garrett

I would stick with the priority if I were you guys. The package arrived overnight, with very little expence. ($7) Garrett

Livestock disappearing / dying
ThePremiumAquarium replied to Eric and Sherridan's topic in EMERGENCY FORUM
Welcom to this site! I am not sure how large the tank is, but I would definately consider doing a water change. I am sure you do these regularly, but I would try doing around a 30% change this time. Your nitrates are on the high side, although not typically in the death zone. They could however be much higher than your test kit is reading due to how old it is. In anycase, it never hurts to do a good size water change in an event like this. Thanks for posting, Garrett -
Just got the BTA and it looks to be in great shape. Shrunken because of shipping, but looks good. The packing was great and the package arrived in just 1 day instead of 2. Thanks a bunch for this little guys. He looks to be happying up after an hour in the tank. Garrett

help with lighting for yumas...
ThePremiumAquarium replied to reefgeek84's topic in General Discussion
Its too bad heat is a concern. I think that they look best under halides. They should grow well either way. Cutting a piece of the foot is what I have done with all my mushrooms to get them to reproduce. It works great 95% of the time. Sometimes it does nothing. pc's are nice because of the cost to run them and the low heat, but rics are so colorful they just aren't done true justice without a nice halide IMO. Goodluck and I look forward to seeing lots of pics. Garrett -
Sweet, thanks. I have a buddy that wants to start a nice low flow tank and I figured this would be good for him. Whatever he gets he will plumb into my system. So predrilled is a must. Thanks a bunch, Garrett

Still have this tank available? If so, do you have a pic? Thanks, Garrett

Well, turns out that I am going to take this anemone anyways. I didn't think I was going to be able to, but I in thinking about it, it will do quite nicely in one of my new systems after a couple of weeks. Should be fine with the others in the 210 until then. I just sent via paypal the money for mine over to irshprncsk. I am having her ship it straight to my house so that I don't have to make the drive up north. Thanks for all of your help on this guys. It just works out much better to have it shipped to me for the $7(much less gas money). Garrett
