  1. Do you happen to have any Angels in your tank?
  2. Jenna, We will chat about the Vortechs and controller options. They are awesome. There are so many cool things we have yet to discuss in terms of equipment options.
  3. Jenna and Ralph, I am pretty pumped about this build. I have already ordered most of the equipment for you! You will definitely have to do a build thread once this beast arrives. Garrett, Bummer to hear about the Elegance. That one came in looking pretty awesome! I am suprised it kicked the bucket. Most of the Indo Elegance corals that I have been getting in have been doing awesome, even long term. The one I sold before yours was at our shop for about 4 months or so if I remember correctly. The Aussies are pretty sweet too though
  4. This is Isla, her momma, and Gypsy pup at the Willamutt Strut a few weeks ago: Isla playing with her puppy a couple of weeks ago: Isla gardening with her Nana a week ago or so: And Isla and her momma today at her party:
  5. Thanks guys and gals! Isla had a crazy day and I am shocked that she hasn't crashed yet. All of that cake must be keeping her going. Her real birthday isn't actually until Wednesday but today just worked better for all of the family so we had her party today. It is pretty crazy that a year has gone by. I am glad I made it through the first year. It has been pretty amazing!
  6. You know, a trip to Salem is always fun I have plenty up here at TPA.
  7. Great looking tanks everyone! I appreciate all of your comments as well. Shaun, the top down pictures you have are nearly edible. It's really great to see all of your tank shots in one place.
  8. We have some really nice rock here at The Premium Aquarium if you're interested. You can hand pick select pieces we have bulk live and dry rock available. Plus we are local
  9. You both should head down to The Premium Aquarium. We have literally dozens of varieties of torches, hammers, frogspawns, octopus, etc.
  10. Glad you came and got this one! It's a very nice specimen. Many of the problems that people have had with elegance corals in the past have been from both a lack of knowledge, bad collection/transportation/holding practices, and a little known virus that spread through many Aussie and some indo specimens. All of the Elegance corals that I have been bringing in over the last year or so have been holding up incredibly well. The color has been way better in general and if taken care of correctly, I haven't seen any mortality out of the norm in comparison with any other LPS coral. They really are pretty easy to keep if given the correct care.
  11. I like these threads. I love seeing so many local tanks in one spot! I have a small post of a few of mine over the years to share. Hopefully it's not too much and let me know if I need to shrink it down a bit. Tried to shrink it down as much as possible. Here are a few of my old systems. My girlfriend(now wife) wanted a Betta for our apartment when we were in college so we went to Petco to get her one and walked out with a 29g saltwater starter tank(really just a fresh tank with a hydrometer and some salt mix) I quickly learned that I couldn't do what I wanted to do with a captive reef tank with just my little 29g basic fresh tank so I upgraded to a 90g later that year once we moved in to our next apartment. My first real crack at coral fragmentation began with a small spot of sand bed at the bottom of the 90g More info on this build can be found here: http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?2224-Garrett-s-90-Gallon Nearing the end of college, we decided to get a house up in Salem. So we did just that, allowing a great excuse for me to upgrade once again. This next system was a 210g RR AGA. I sold my soul for this one Start: At this point this system was stand alone with a standard sump and 1hp chiller to keep it cool under the 1500w of lighting. I added a shed to get a bit more volume, some frag tanks, and to get the chiller out of the house. Further down the road(can't find pics of the end): At this point there was about 900g of system with frag tanks, macro propagation, lots of sump volume, etc. all plumbed into the display and located in the garage. My selling adventures online and to locals started here. More info on this build can be found here: http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?4602-Garretts-210g The wife and I decided to get an apartment to both compact our lives a bit and to prep for buying a house. I sold off much of the previous 210g system and all of it's support tanks as I didn't have a place for them that I could think of. Well that lasted about 3 months before my dad asked if I wanted to set up a few tanks in his garage to grow some algae and corals. Big mistake... The start of the parents garage system: Progress: At some point I set back up the old 90g only this time with some rockwork adjustments Just what the old parents garage needed. At some point, I swapped the glass tanks out for acrylic tanks to make things easier and I hated dealing with the occasional tank crack due to the thinner glass of the smaller tanks I used(many lessons learned) More info on my parents garage setup can be found here: http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?11205-Epic-Propagation-System-Well-Compactly-Epic! I bought a house and went a bit larger. I revamp the new houses garage with 160amps of power, some anti-slip garage floor paint, some extra insulation, vent fans, etc. Basically a full blown shop in the garage kind of thing(had its pros and cons by the way) A few shots of some of the tanks in the garage/shop: I can't seem to find any pictures of the whole shop. Just certain tanks for some reason. Must be on a different computer. Then, after about a year and a half, I decided to open up my first real shop. Lots more images and such of the start of the shop can be found here: http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?28553-Grand-Opening!!!-BBQ-SPECIALS-and-Handshakes!/page2 The first shop was awesome but was pretty small and felt pretty crowded when only a few people where in it(as many of you remember). So After several remodels, feeling too cramped, and ready for an upgrade, I decided to upgrade the shop to something a bit nicer, roomier, and the like. And now the new shop looks even cooler as things start to mature, continue to get fine tuned, etc. See more updates, info, etc. on this location: http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?94-The-Premium-Aquarium http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/The-Premium-Aquarium/160254574029224 http://thepremiumaquarium.com/ It's really amazing how things progress in this hobby. It's so fun looking back on all of the experiences I have had. Stay tuned for the next step...
  12. Looking awesome my friend! Finally had some time to get it done!! Excited to see how this tank develops. You did so well with the 90g that I am sure it will be amazing.
  13. We have a real nice one that came in last week. There is a picture of it on our facebook page as well. Let me know if interested.
  14. We have the same stuff in a different brand for $39.98 for 40lbs. I use it in most of my tanks! I like the consistancy and size of the grains.
  15. Facebook Special for this weekend: Today through Monday for every $25 that you spend on corals or inverts, get $5 extra to spend on corals or inverts! If you spend a total of $100, get another $5 bonus. Spend $200 and get a $15 bonus! Don't miss out on this killer sale!
  16. Awesome score! Nice looking pieces from OIAB!
  17. Tons of new stuff just in from Bali and Jakarta! Still unpacking so I haven't seen most of it but swing by if you like to check out the goods.
  18. Both ATI and Giesmann are really nice bulbs. Reefgeek as of right now is the only importer of ATI bulbs that I know of. Everyone else buys them from him. That being said, I really like both brands and have used both with awesome success and the color, with the right combo is great with either brand.
  19. ^^^ Look like some nice Superman Rhodactis to me. Always a fun coral.
  20. John, Probably would be about $10 to ship any of the cleanup crews down to you. NPS indeed on the spider sponge. The white part of it is actually a hosting parazoanthus sp. from what I can tell and have heard. It's probably best to feed phyto and maybe cyclopeeze or other zooplankton for the parazoanthus. CoralCrazy, We can always ship for about $10
