I know its not the prettiest color. It is getting too much light right now and that makes it lighten up and loose its green color. It is a highly flourescent color under just actinics. I grew this from a small colony. Takes years to get this big and I have no idea what made it split a baby. I know the baby looks poor but in the morning it is inflated and looks round and about like a golf ball. I am debating weather I want to help it along but will probably just let it split natrually. Hello peoples. I have been buzy and havent been here much lately. Has anyone ever seen a big favia coral shed a baby all by itself? I have had this favia for 6 or 7 years and it is shedding a golfball size baby without the help of my dremel or anything. I have just never seen this with a favia and was wondering if anyone here has. Is anyone even intrested in seeing a picture? I could dig out my camera but if nobody really needs to see it then I wont bother with it. Jay Happy fourth of july

Thank You Rick!! This is such a dead horse....why keep beating it. If the lfs doesnt like someone comming in and asking questions he can choose to not awnser them. Being in bussiness is tough and not for everyone. If they dont like online shops competing with their local store then they better open a webstore also. I recently bought a product from a local lfs not mentioning any names patrick....I knew it would be more money but I did it because I happen to like the store and the big selection. Plus he tested my water and helped me figure out that my tds meter on my reverse osmosis unit was bad and I needed a new membrane and new batteries in my meter. I happen to know that he ordered from air water and ice our sponsor and it was marked up pretty darn good but the help he provided me was worth every penny. Who would have thought that the built in tds meter on their reverse osmosis unit would read zero tds when the batteries are a little low.....he knew. My hair algae that I was battleing is now gone and I had been battling it for months without knowing it was my water when my meter was reading zero TDS. What I do is make my choices on the fly. If I like the way I am treated someplace it makes all the difference in the world of how much money I spend there. If I am treated like a number or someone who is only there to rip off then hey....they have made my choice really easy. I especially hate it when a business owner openly complains that someone else is getting their business. In my opinion if they keep their selection really really good and their employees are friendly and helpful and the prices are not completely out of line then the business should take care of itself. We as consumers need to realize that it takes money to run a business and pay the bills and provide a living for the owner and their families. Also money spent at locally owned businesses is likely to trickle back into the local economy as the employees get paid they may spend money locally also. Who do you wish to help pay their rent....some mega-huge walmart type online store or some china-men in hong kong selling on eBay......or the guy that lives in your town who has children that are in school with your kids and buys his food and other goods locally when possible? I know for a fact that a small business owner will go out of his way to support another small business. Someone who is in the same boat as he. I personally have not set foot in a walmart in over 6 years....aside from when I had to give someone a ride there to get their medications. Walmarts and home depo and the likes kill small business. I can remember when walmart came to moses lake when I lived there. The next 2 years a dozen businesses downtown closed as least. I know because I worked right downtown as a computer tech for a small business. Clothing stores and gift shops and furniture stores...closed closed closed. It was just sad. Everyone working at walmart for minimum wages instead of haveing good jobs in smaller stores with medical Bennies. DOH! Whoa....thats enough typeing.....did not meen to turn this into a bash the big corporate B*tch thread....sorry (flame) Jay

I can trade a big red monti cap....frag of purple cap...frag of green slimer...frag of sunset millipora...frag of galaxia coral...green polyp toadstool or whatever I have in my tank. You can come by and check out my corals and we can make a trade for fresh cut corals.... Jay

Lowman...I have a 30 gallon acrylic tank. It was one of those with the filter and everything built into the hood. Blue background with 1 cross brace on the top. Actually it would make a good reef tank. Can you post some pics of the coral you are wanting to trade?

Ok....they are done and the water is looking better. 4 hours of bailing wet skimmate from the cup every 3-7 minuts gets old really quick but you should see the water in the bucket. Man does it stink. Where the water has dried on the skimmer body its a chalky white ....yuk...just yuk! Thanks Rick but I will have enough by morning. Jay

I have been bailing skimmer foam from the cup this whole time. I have about 3 gallons of milky skimmate and the big ones still spawning. How do you make them quit? I thought about 2 gallons of cold water all at once to kinda shock them into quiting.....

Well my big anemone spawned a while back for about the fifth time since I had it and tonoght both my rose anemone and my crispa are spewing. The tank is milky and the clowns are busy pulling out strands of...well you know. I have never had a rose spawn let alone both at once. I dont have any water ready either. I did set the skimmer to wet and will be emptying it several times tonight. Last time that is all I had to do along with change the carbon afterwards. Hope everything lives through it. Its pretty milky right now. Jay
