fyi The bulb is well used as indicated by the very dark color. New bulbs are clear. They get progressively darker with usage time,indicating in that picture a very used bulb. I have never run mine to get near that dark and I am running 400w Radium

wonder if it was stored outside rapped' up in plastic and got moldy. I have never bought any tht stunk but have had it stink if I store in outside. Take it back. Would you want to breath the water if you lived in it? Or drink water running through it?

How much rock to how much water? New mix or same water? the rocks themselves will be setup differently, with some parts getting moe or less light causing a change. PH, salinity and all the other levels are going to be different. Just give it the week or 2 and never rush it Use as much of the old water as you can. .
