I gotta plug for Flyguy's rock lifts... super nice, unobtrusive (sp??), and the nicest thing about them is if you are a rearrange (sp?) freak, you can put in pieces and take them out as you need. I like the one he is building for his SPS tank with starboard as the bottom piece so it looks like sand. Definatly worth 60 bucks.

He's got suppliers for fish, rock, dry goods... he's just trying to get a shop, and get some tanks built from the way it sounds.

I heard Tim is just getting ready to lease a store front for his shop here in Bend. I just talked to him yesterday and he's pretty excited.

Back in 'Nam, before I lost my arm, I used to play with my coral banded shrimp, and he would do the same sort of things, you know, clean my harm, hang off my harm with his claw(ouch) I'll bet that wound felt great when that saltwater starting creaping in... hahaha

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but I was in Petco this weekend getting dog food, and they have a sign up wanting to donate a fully working aquarium to a school teacher, with lesson plans, the whole 9 yrds. Just figured I'd throw it out there just in case any teachers were interested. It was on a banner in the window. Don;t know if it was just for Bend, or state(nation)wide

So you bought Jeremy's 155? Thats kinda funny. I bought my tank from Jeremy as well. Exact same problems... (he'd been really neglectful.) Anyways, i have been going waterchanges, mine are more like 20% weekly. How far did you reduce your light photoperiod? I've been running my halide for about 8 hrs a day, I was only running for about 3 hours a day, but I really saw a decline in my corals. Lost a couple too. Flyguy has some rock that is just getting finished cooking, so I think since I only need like 20lbs i'm going to buy it from him and cook my rock. I'm just so sick of the hair algae.

I'm at this point with my hair algae too. I think it may be the same kind as yours as well. Haven't really seen this color before. Do you by chance have marshall island rock? How did you get rid of it? I ordered a phosban reactor, should be here today, my po4 tests 0 but I know there has to be phos in there if I'm having this algae problem. Nothing seems to be working, well the sea hare was for about 2 weeks as you said..... uh, im sick of this, starting to think about just buying new rock, and cooking this stuff.

I really don't understand what happened. He was doing well, seriously killing the hair algae, and he just up and died..... nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia is all at 0..... im kinda vexed.

I actually think it was dead when i took the pictures, but I put him in a bucket of water with an airstone anyways. No movement for like 3 hours, and let me tell you, when they are dead, they STINK!!!!! anyways, thanks for the help lowman and Sean. SBK

So I got this sea hare from joel about a week and a half ago... what in the heck is wrong with it. It looks pregnant... anyone have any idea?

i do have a truck, how big is the tank? I wasn't going to drive the pickup, but I could.....

IM interested too... did you use the drain from your sump as your intake, or did you run another pump?

I guess I did all of it when i put my tank down... I have a hardwood floor and belive me I thought this one through... so what I did was to add a piece of camping pad down, and then some a piece of pergo flooring over it. Still kinda looks like the hard wood, so you really dont know its there. hope it helps SBK

I just wanted to get on here and publicly thank Joel from Waves. I drove up there yesterday and took my tank to him to get drilled. Not only did he have some really good ideas on where to locate my closed loop, but he took alot of his time helping me make some good decisions. And his store was open the whole time and everyone from Portland chose yesterday to shop, so he was very busy, and he didn't rush at all. Thanks for being so understanding as I stood over your shoulder watching (scary) . Thanks again Joel, and to everyone else, if you haven't made it in to waves in a while... go. I used to be a huge magdrive fan until I found the Rio pumps. I have heard alot about heat transfer from them, but I haven't had any problems and let me tell you, its WAY quieter than any magdrive or ehiem pump I have tried. SBK

If your going to use hermits at all, only use the blue legged ones. IME the stay smaller than most hermits, and seem to be a little less destructive. I think astrea snails are some of the best cleaners around, just you have to flip a few back over from time to time. I also really like bumble bee snails for cleaning detritus outta little crevices in rock. SBK

I can attest to the ammount or actually the chaotity in Fly's tank... I saw it yesterday.. and whoa. I'll defiantly be going with an OM on the CL of my 72g. Thanks for sharing bud SBK

Well as most of you know I bought a very poorly maintained tank from a friend about 3 months ago. Well after countless water changes (3 50g buckets of Oceanic on a 16g!) I have finally been able to keep the Nitrates at 0 and Phosphates at 0.1 for 2 weeks (clap) My SPS have VERY full polyp extension, and the cleaners are seriously knocking out the hair algae. Thanks for all the help and support you guys have given me. SBK

I have that purple lokani. I got it off of frags.org. It grows pretty good under my 10Ks

Does anyone run one? If so what brand? Do I need a pump for it, or just plumb it inline? If so what pump? I'm really concidering getting one since they are so cheap, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with them. Thanks SBK

mine look more like the second and third pics. the top looks like it isn't going to make it bro.... thats just from my limited SPS experience though...

got the fuge up and running today. I put about 4" of live sand, and about 7lbs live rock. I figure the total volume of the fuge to be about 12g. Now I just gotta get some macro for it, and a light. I was thinking of going with a 18w PC, the 6100k / 10K bulb. Anyone have any thoughts about that set up? should it work?
