good to hear nothin died....i dont trust float valves and auto top off involving kalk.....u hear about acccidents happenin here and there... i prefer to use a water jug thats pressurized with an airpump on a timer, when on it forces water(kalk)up and out of the jug and into the tank via and air line...when timer stops, its stops...when was the last time u heard of a timer failin or an airpump...... curious why u didnt try the vinegar?

i think hes takin something u pick up at HD or lowes.....

hey Rich do u see a problem with makin the emergency drain a little smaller?. for example if the main drain is 1 1/2", could the E-drain be 1"....assuming that the likelyhood of the main being completely blocked would be pretty rare.his return is only like 900 gph

i never was a believer in them(AP), but recently decided to test them againt salifert . i compared the calcium and KH tests.....i just did a retest and with the AP test kit KH was 10dkh and with the salifert kit it was 10.8 dkh...the calcium AP kit showed between 420 ppm and with the salifert calcium kit 430 ppm........i personal like the salifert kits , but not the price... so i use both brands. i use the AP kits twice a week and the salifert once a week to stretch out the salifert kits......IMO thats the best way to go...HTH
