something else could be blocking the flow to it . i think impur was on it i would move it somewhere else in the tank..it needs more current. IME ive had them grow like weeds wear flow was good.then if i move to a location lacking flow the decline in health and start disappearing.move it before its to late...goodluck

i would also check to make sure what kind of ballast you have .meaning is it a regular MH,hqi,ps,eye, or MV(mercury vapor).maybe u have the wrong bulb/ballast combo. this could cause early/premature death in a bulb... sometime some ballasts are sold as something else. was it new or used? have you noticed if its cycling off and then on again a few minutes later...another indicator of wrong bulb/ballast match.HTH Reynaldo

good luck.... usually homedepot carries something equivalent.....(prestone) during the winter months....but this winter they had something else.i think used a blend of chemicals. something like potassium chloride instead of calcium chloride... no good
