sorry guys for the absence and lack of responses from me.. me the wife, both our kids, and both my parents all came down with this nasty european flu. Knocked us all on our butts. throw some fans over your sump.. mine knock the heat down at least 2 degrees through evaporative cooling.

more flow is always good, however, HA grows in high flow as well...

just got them in... first thing i notice is, man i didnt realize how much light my seio 1100 blocked light from that side of the tank. With as open as the hydor is, it lets a lot of light threw. The flow is quite dispersed. It looks like a lot of flow, but its not very "streamy". the flow doesnt go very far, but it is a nice wide flow. It definitely keeps up with the 1100. happy so far. dead silent.. and i mean silent. unless you have your ear to the magnet, you cant hear it. and the magnet holds very well. looks pretty good in the tank as well. i might get another, sell all my seio's, and run 3 of 4's.

haha.. nah.. kids got me busy doing things, just cant take the time with them pawing at me to get it in the tank :p Heres some pics until i get them in the tank. Well.. just picked up my #4 from joel today.. and man.. initial reaction is, this thing is a lot smaller in person, then from pics you see on the net. I mean, ive seen lots and lots of side by side comparisons of them, but man... this thing is small. And it seems to be fairly well made. people on RC say its cheap plastic, but.. w/e.. its seems sturdy enough to me.. i mean, how strong does it need to be? the magnets seems hardy enough, and im gonna go throw it in the tank here soon.. i'll keep ya updated.

yeh.. kinda looks like it.. it was moving in its mouth, and kind smooth... i dunno, for some reason, looking at it freaked me out, like the kind of freak out, where you get that weird feeling in your stomach looking at it.. weird.. went back about an hour later, and it was all gone lol

Ok.. so just looked into the tank with the actinics on, and looked at my shrimp, it had this weird thing coming from its mouth i think... im so freaked out right.. its down right creepy.. any ideas?

heres my tank with my hammy's on it still, before i got the xm's. but this it after the whole fan mishap. not a lot survived (sps wise) so the tank is still pretty devoid of sps. slowly stocking up again with the little frags ive gotten. ive taken out the halimeda since this though, i think it was sucking up too much Ca, cuz as soon as i yanked it, i had a little growth spurt in a few corals. but i liked it, and had it there on purpose. i realized i dont have any tank pics up of mine. sorry for the darkness.. im horrible at tank shots.. only way i could get a somewhat unblurry pic was upping the speed of the shutter :p .. so that means less light DOH!

ive got the Nova Extreme 4x39w but the tank isnt very deep. only a 46g bow 2x Slimpaq 460nm Actinic 2x 10k We have a little "arch" rock that we could arch over her for a cave if you think it would help?

well i havnt done the mag 3 or 5.. i say that because, on my wifes tank, its been like 3 weeks now with the cup all the way on the bottom, and it only has about half a cup of skimmate with a mj1200

well.. watched her closely last night after lights out. Went back about an hour later, and she was fully open, except a small part on the foot where it looks a little funny. fed her, and she closed up on it, and took it down happily. then, this morning, lights on, she closed back up to what she looks like in the pic

too bad you dont need 20oz bottles.. have an unlimited amount of those :p

reminds me when i was in my tank the other day. I kept hearing a clicking noise at night. At first i kind of ignored it, because i really didnt pay attention. Well this went on for a month or so, so i decided to check it out closer.. yup.. definate clicking. i was like.. oh hell.. a baby mantis snuck into my system with my last batch of rocks. So, while checking the tank at night with a red flashlight, i searched for a few days.. nada.. couldnt see anything. So i decided to tear the tank down. One by one i took the rock out and inspected each piece. was getting down to the last rock and still nothing. well, pull out the last rock, and to my suprise.. there he was.. gary coleman, looking at me saying "whatchoo talkin bout dippin"

good to hear. I fed her a few mysis, that she slowly ate. She really doesnt ball up at all, not even at night. She actually opens more at night i think. dont think anything is coming from her mouth, so thats a good sign. thanks guys!
