Well my 150 that i need to setup will be in addition to my current tank, so the need for upgradability isnt really needed. So no dual 400w lol. Dont really want to have to buy a chiller if i dont have to. Gonna blast the sump with fans to keep heat down. as far as room goes, theres not much there. everything right now is in a standard hood for a 55g. the mh's and the vhos are mounted inside. Now if i move my vhos just bit more the middle of the hood, i think i might be able to fit 1 T5 on each side with reflectors. Then my vhos would just be straight actinics and probably a 10k T5 and maybe a blue+. or should i not mess with it and just run some helios off a dual HQI ballast?] im just getting horrible growth with the hammy, and i dont like the color either.

Well.. tax man dropped off a nice chunk of change for the wife and me. So its time to upgrade my lights. Heres my situation. 55g tank with a 250w 14k hammy off a mag ballast. 2x 48" VHO. 1x 50/50 and 1x actinic. Now my tank isnt bright enough, and i figure no matter what bulb i go with, im not going to be happy. So i had some thoughts. Should i just go with a dual HQI 250w ballast and be done with it, or i was thinking of just seeing if i could squeeze 2x 48" T5's to my current setup. opinions?

so i looked at some of the sexy shrimp.. anyone with experience with them in a reef? The one on live aquaria says anemone sexy shrimp. Do they need an 'nem?

lol.. what happened was, i was sitting around and thinking about my SN, and how many people probably thought something totally different then what it was. Then i got to thinking about other members names, and wondered if i was far off from what i thought about theres. lucky they chimed in, i was way off on some :P like someone earlier said, a lot of people think im a chewer that is 61 y.o. yeh, ive got the usual pep, and skunk, but they are getting boring lol. yeh, its for my 55g, but they might eventually get uprooted to my new 150g.

yeh, id have a tank just full of inverts if i could lol. i saw a thread over at RC of a japanese tank that was full of different kinds of inverts. Was amazing.

I love shrimp. Dunno why, but I've always liked them in my tanks. However, the normal varieties quickly become stale and uninteresting. Anyone have any cool shrimp besides the norm? (no skunk, blood, pep, camel, etc etc). And would anyone know where they can be found?

I think the problem with borneman, is that he is a very specialized speaker, and the seminars he gave can both be found on reefvideos.com. So it wasnt like people thought they were missing out on much. Personally i wanted to go because, i saw his seminars online, and wanted to hear them for myself. (Although at times, things were going wayyyy over my head. He's a bit technical :p ) Im way into learning everything i can in this hobby, and thought that would make a good first meeting for me. and it was great to finally put faces to people on the board.

hopefully it came out pretty well.. i was a bit late, so i didnt have much time to setup, so the first part of the presentation is a little iffy, other then that, i just kept the camera on the presentation screen, to avoid the camera being everywhere. and the tape ran out, just as he was getting to questions, but it didnt miss much. i gave the tape to R3.
