I'm wearing out the propellers in my Gyre 130. If anyone has an extra A or B rotator and rubber/plastic bushings, let me know.

Couple of years ago we were in Maui and had a tank leak. Folks at Upscales helped out. Now I have Tom keep an eye on the tank when were out of town.

I have to admit I've had the worst luck with the pipes on my 450. When installing the tank, I over tightened the overflow and cracked the pipe. Recently, when installing a custom overflow valve, I cracked the upper pipe again. While installing a manifold, I cracked the return pipe. The only complaint I have about the Reefer tank is the plumbing. Anyway - I have ordered backup pipes for the main overflow and return pipes. If anyone should have the same bad luck as me, please contact me to borrow an extra pipe while you wait for a replacement pipe. Shawn

I was pretty good about daily nori feeding in addition to LRS. He was quite active and color looked good, so I didn't notice was getting skinny.

Didn't realize until this morning that my powder blue tang is starving. He has stopped eating. Caught him and put him in quarantine. No sign of illness and color is good. Added some garlic to mysis and brine shrimp but he won't eat.

Ok, I've owned my Reefer 450 for two years now. I love this tank! There's only one problem with the Reefer tanks - the overflow valve. I have spent 2 years constantly adjusting the overflow valve so it's quiet and not too high or too low. I've tried a different return pump and learned to make only the slightest adjustments - literally tiny changes. But, every day or two the overflow started to make too much noise. Well----- While exploring some pluming mod options, I decided to change the overflow valve to a Spear gate valve. It's been almost a week now and only ONE slight adjustment. If you have a Reefer tank and experience problems adjusting the overflow valve, GIVE THIS A TRY!
