  1. This was made a little while ago and has been just sitting around just waiting to be used. All sides are black and the bottom is clear. It a little rough, not finished (polished) but it'll work just fine. Teeth on three sides. 15 5/8" x 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" the teeth are 1/4" x 1 1/4"deep. asking $25
  2. Been up in the crawl space trying to find my pumps and ran across this reflector. The protective plastic is still on this thing, never mounted just sat around collecting dust. Need to fund my new build. 24"L x 14"W x 6" Asking $20 Pending
  3. Been up in the crawl space trying to find my pumps and ran across this reflector. Didn't even try to clean it up, it's just dusty and will clean up good. It's from a RetroFit for a T5. Need to fund my new build. It's 45"L x 15"W x 3" Asking $20
  4. Been up in the crawl space trying to find my pumps and ran across this reflector. Tried to clean it up for the pix, I'm sure it'll clean up more. Need to fund my new build. It's a Spider Reflector, used of course asking $15 16"L x12"W x 6"H SOLD
  5. Would be nice to post a pix Never seen one before
  6. Anyone use this pump for more than 6 mths? Any problems? I've been looking at this pump and reading but Marine Solutions only warrants the pump for 6 mths. Kind of leary about that.
  7. I'm wanting to buy a part, but I understand that it's cheaper if you are a registered user of their products. It's the Needle Wheel for the 1262 Eheim that I want, the old one broke on me. PM me if you are willing to thanks
  8. I'll buy one and after using it to scrape algae can I charge something on it (laugh)(laugh)
  9. Out of order DOH! Starting with Ending with
  10. When building this new tank with external overflow, I wanted to use this the Hofer Gurgle Buster, to keep the tank quiet. So while I was assembling the overflow box, I routed out the three holes for the 1" PVC pipe. Snug fit, you really have to push and turn the pipe in the hole. On RC I have seen this as many others have Bean Animal's Silent & Failsafe Overflow and decided to incorporate that on to this tank. Problem is there is a 1 1/8" hole and a hole saw would just skate all over the place leaving marks in the acrylic. So I came up with a simple idea, make a "guide" for the mandrel of the hole saw to slide in. This will keep the saw mandrel or pilot drill steady. I positioned the guide hole (scrap plastic with hole drilled in the middle) where I wanted the center of the hole to be in relationship to the existing hole (did I say that right?) and used WO #4 to hold it in place. I did this for all three holes. Picked out the correct hole size for the 1 1/2" BH's and proceeded. It took longer to get the plug out than it was to drill the three holes. Just an idea for your next build...or fix First pix if of the guide hole Second blurry pix is the guide hole "glued" in the existing hole Third pix the hole saw/drill Fourth pix you can see the hole guide and the plug from the new hole. Fifth pix the high $$ tools from Harbor Freight
  11. LMK when you are in Portland next time
  12. Roger Can you make them with a small stem on the bottom, to fit into egg create so they won't fall off?
  13. Not sure if I will have a Bubble Plate. Won't need a bubble plate if I hook up one of those Reeflo Orca's. (rock2) Time wise, probably 3 hrs here and there and about a good solid 2hrs for the friction neck and flanges
  14. The most $$ are the pumps, either the Sedra 9000 x2 @ $220.00 or the Orca NW @ $250.00 The tube was $50/ft @ 6ft length - so far maybe $125.00 up to this point. Maybe add another $15 in PVC and Uniseals $360.00 when done. The Deltic AP702 would be close to this DIY
  15. DOH! (nutty) The body is 10" cast, the neck is 6" cast as well as the flat pieces. The cone is the only non cast piece and it forms in the oven really nice. It's about 24" tall, fit under the stand and I choose Sedra's and I had used them before, they work great, the price is right $109 ea, free shipping for 2, 2yr warranty and parts are readily available anywhere. I wanted to use these Sicce's but these are new and made in Italy, parts are still filtering in and not everybody carries them.
  16. Been busy today building my skimmer for the new tank. The cone was made in the oven and it's extruded material vs cast. The extruded is eaiser to form than the cast - I tried several times and the cone just would not come up. The extruded one I got a nice "tall" cone. The neck is a friction fit made with three pieces of acrylic, 1/4" on the out sides and 3/8" on the inside. The first one I made (tried) was all 1/4" but the "O" ring would not go in, and it's suppose to be 1/4" material DOH! Just waiting for the pumps(Sedra's 9000 meshmod) to get here so I can finish the skimmer. Will be using Uni-Seals for the pumps and the outlet. This is a "little" big for a 79gal tank, but I made this for the future upgrade and won't have to build another one.
  17. Well guy's, I've been doing this for a long time and not worried about it being off or crooked or cracking. I use all cast material, drill the recomended hole before I tap the hole. As I suggested try it on a piece of scrap and see what happens. Just use the correct drill size as stated on the tap.
  18. Just dry. The biggest hole is probably 3/8" and into 1/2" acrylic would be the max thickness. Always use the correct drill for the size tap. When I use to work at a machine shop, they showed me how to drill and tap holes on the drill press (metal) Drill the hole, change out and insert the tap, start the feed into the hole, turn on the drill press and then turn it off, letting the momentum of the motor do the work. good luck
  19. I always try to find a faster way to do things and eaiser at that. Here I am threading holes in a flange for a 1/4"x20 nylon thumbscrew using a 17/64" drill bit. All the holes are pre-drilled and then the fun begins. I chuck-up a 1/4x20 tap into my drill-driver and tap all the holes. It took me longer to write this up than it was to thread the holes. Just a quick DIY..
  20. I'm in, Lowman you got mail On the GFO, which is better the granules or the pellets? Will be used in a diy reactor. Anyone try the high capacity GFO? Problems?
  21. (whistle) on the top you mean (enforcer)DOH! you got mail
  22. Jon (whistle) you should save me one (enforcer)(threaten)
