  1. Did what for you, Keith, got you out? It IS a very nice ricordea.
  2. I have a metric tap and die set if you are certain it is such.
  3. Little bit of both; My position has been pushed me to different line of management. Boss man is in Mid-coastal California. I anticipate being there a few times a month (as long as I can bear it). Jennifer and I are going to Hawaii in a week or two and only staying 5 days, but I realized that I want to travel much more now that I have the ability and take some backpacking trips to SE Asia and S. America. The tank is a lot of maitenance and worry. I want to not have to theorize about what to do if the power goes out for an hour or two. I think I am just going to replace it with something smaller, less energy impacting and less maitenance in the future. I have never, in 26 years, been able to get out of the hobby, it's just a new place now.
  4. I'm travelling shortly (quite a bit) and need more flexibility...
  5. See the post in the classifieds section (equipment) for an arbitrage opportunity (a quick way to make a buck)

There is some truth to that, but sadly, Keith took away the greater truth!

I Luv Trent. He's my Hero. i wish i was like him
  8. So you are the sellers and provide the financing? Is this a Financial Analyst position?
  9. That's what I was trying to alleviate... there has been some confusion regarding this, and seeing the plumbing... well, I just didn't see it. I also agree with Rich. Especially with the OM, you may want to get an external pump for this task. There will be a head pressure and this will be transferred to the pump, in the form of heat. Having it submerged may contribute to some problems down the road.
  10. Well, it was 1300 feet down. It's not like we can just put our tanks on our backs and go down that far! Small wonder we can't find him. What's the deal with the front claws? I see the eyes are reminicent of a stomotapod, although, likely suited to deep water. This family just evolves by leaps and bounds. Shrimp will one day evolve past humans, and then will take over the world.
  11. Seeing your plumbing, I wonder about the closed loop. Are you going to use another plumbed circuit to run your sump?
  12. I like the closed loop design, looks innvoative in the top returns, esp. with the om, it should act more "wave" like. Are you going to paint the back? Cover with rock?
  13. Ouch, really sucks, man. Wish I could help, but redbugs and 100 miles are a pretty key hurdle.
  14. This is the actual one... thx joel for the lead. http://takeaction.oceana.org/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=2185
  15. Saw this on the BBC and thought it was appropriate: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4996268.stm Look at the picture link for a giant gargonian that was uprooted and thrown back. Knowing the slow growth of them, this one must be many years in the making, and just ripped up, and thrown back.
  16. Gotta agree on the skimmer, I had that model, and not the most efficient. Tank should be very interesting with the rest of the combination, tho.
  17. The om 4 way switches perform this task. I have also used a hydor for circular movement. Joel utilizes a timer for his pumps. BTW, love the videos!!! Making me long for this upcoming Hawaii dive!
  18. Ok, so Ben Stein backs me up. http://finance.yahoo.com/columnist/article/yourlife/4320
  19. hmm, dunno... I think at $14, you might just replace it.
  20. keith, they really are annoying. Not in the Simon Cowell way either. The buffered water may refer to kalkwasser for some people. If you need the calcium for SPS, this may be appropriate. If you have mainly softies and some LPS, it may not be as necessary. I use an acrylic safe mag-float. Works perfect when there is no sand in the pad. Otherwise, when people come over and wanna play with it, I get scared.
  21. We're just too into the idea that as the dominant species on this planet, we need to re-prove ourselves on a personal level. Then again, I am into fishing too... but I do the catch and release thing... 'cause freshwater fish don't taste too good.
