  1. I believe this only works with D60 and up? My D40 wont do this, although I am in love with the new speedlight. Whatever you do, if you are lookin to spend 500, make it six and get a good DSLR and a couple lenses. Costco usually has good deals.
  2. I received a new flash for camera recently and put it to the test. Enjoy
  3. Ive use a lot of different salt. Oceanic, IO, Tropic Marine, Oceanpure and Seachem. In my experience, it doesnt matter what salt you use.....as long as you are testing each batch and adjusting your levels as desired. Many brands that have a reputation for being "stable" often are not at the levels that I want in my tank. Therefore, I add a little calcium or buffer or magnesium to adjust. However, an anecdotal observation, my tank and critters seemed to respond pretty well when I was using Tropic Marine. Most corals appeared to be more vibrant and open along with my anemone. Of course take this story with a grain of.....salt.
  4. Honestly, I am not real sure what I would do without my Tunze. I'd have to go back to all of that messy and leaky plumbing for closed loop. Yuck. The controller is pretty fun too. Good luck.
  5. YOu like the MSX? How is the build? I was looking into those as an option. People seems to really like them.
  6. K, thanks. What bells and whistles? I would very much like something that I could check through the internet and monitor settings. ACIII do that?
  7. Looking for a new skimmer for my 135g system. It seems skimmer technology is always changing so I am curious what people are using these days. Id like to spend somewhere in teh 400-500 dollar range, suggestions welcome. Thanks
  8. Considering buy myself a controller for christmas but I have no idea where to start. Please feel free to give me suggestion on which brands/models you like or use. THanks
  9. Looks very simple. Let me know if you find a good power source. This would be much better peace of mind than nothing.
  10. 20K XM DE 250w. The WB is a little bit off. The tank is actually not as blue as it looks in the photos...im working on it. Pic number one is pretty close.
  11. Bought some new items over the last month or so. Enjoy. Feedback appreciated.
  12. First quarter of the beaver game I was worried....really worried. Then things looked much better. If they can continue to play like that, all will be well. Duck game was crazy. Fun to watch.
  13. Really?! After Utah State? Really?
  14. Pics would be awesome. Joel, could you pm some more info? Pictures and/or price?
  15. ya, "seems" like enough. I have had the two float switches on my ATO for well over two years with zero problem. I will post, when I get this all figured out.
  16. I currently have a glass sump and I was thinking I could add a float valve as another level of security, but I am not sure how I could make that happen with glass. I dont really want to drill, the side of my glass tank. Any other ideas on how to use the float valve?
  17. Forgot to mention, the cheaper the better.
  18. Wow, think I need that much light? I guess it wouldn't hurt. do you recommend from experience?
  19. I like to think that I have many points of failure. DOH! In the setup I will going with there are two float switches attached to a solenoid. Followed by a timer. What are the chances all of those fail? Especially when all the the parts of the system except the float switches, will not be exposed to salt water. At this point I am just wondering what are the chances that both float switches fail at the same time that the solenoid fails and that the timer comes on. The solenoid will be attached to the two floats, if the lower switch fails, water will rise to the upper switch and cut off power. If the solenoid fails, I assume it fails in the closed position. Is this inaccurate? The default position should be for the solenoid to be closed without power, no? This could be a major oversight if it is not the case. Obviously, I am trying to talk myself into doing this project, but I would rather not have a flood.
  20. Famous last words: It seems like it will be pretty fail safe. Not to mention one last chore. Ill try to report back when I get this resolved. (clap)
  21. (scary) (naner) Beavers = way too many mistakes, plain and simple. Better pick it up or its going to be a tough start. SC looked pretty solid.
  22. I have done HTC the last four years. Quite an experience.
