  1. I do not doubt that there will not be good frags...but I really think you will attract alot more people if it is free, they can just make a stop by and take a look and then impluse buy. Same reason stores let you window shop and why they put gum and tweezers at the registers in stores.

Like Steve talked about, there is not nearly the wealth that there is in cali. I really think that if you just let people come they would spend more money and put that towards frags. How ever if there is major discounts on corals then you might be onto something. But to charge us, to then rake us over the coals for more tiny frags I think is absurb. With places like Upscales at much better prices (90 bucks gets me 3 frags of really cool stuff), I will be staying home. I think this borders on the side of greed.

Someone talked about 15 bucks being cheaper then shipping, if you order from most places online orders are free if 200 is spent and that can be 2-3 frags...so really that does not really counter act charging 30 bucks to the public

Not at Atlantis, reef farmers and frag farmer. We are talking stuff that I want not just regular shipments of corals that come in on these web sites. This is definately a specialty show not a coral "saturday market". I order from the web sometimes but safer to know what you are getting and that it is healthy. Although I do agree that half there corals Upscales has or has given them and they call there own. We are lucky and can be a little bit of coral snobs at times. But I did live 2 blocks from Atlantis so I guess I have a Bay Area mentality. I am pretty sure they aren't making a killing at $15 with all the costs involved to get this stuff here. If I remember correctly we fit the bill last time for that. How much would it cost if you took your frags and set them up at the Hilton (not the high rollers suite) just the conference room.

    More Frags for ME(clap)

  2. oh this sounds sweet. I'm good with WYSIWYG. count me in.

This is a cool step forward for the hobby here and free booth nice. I am glad it was offered. Not manditory to go and $15 is cheaper than shipping and you know there will be some cool stuff.

  3. some updates....

    - The becketts on my skimmer were not sealed enough so those are being fixed right now, man I want to find out if this thing is going to work or not....

    - I finally got everything to do my CL with OM4way (minus the plumbing).

    - Picked up my Skimmer Auto Shut Off Waste Collector.

    - Picked up and installed a dehumidifier for the garage.

    - Been battling with these 400w helios bulbs for a while but I think I got it figured out finally.

    - Set up a temporary precision marine calcium reactor until the new one comes.

here is another pic from when I finished the moulding a while ago that I forgot to post. I am happy with the way it turned out.

  4. I can't figure out how to take a decent pic of the tank. Everything comes out horrible. I have started to transfer some stuff over and I did get my base rock too. I will probably be doing aquascaping in a week or two. Here are some pics of what I have. Shipment from H&S maybe coming into the US this week so I might see my reactor in a week or two.

  5. sorry you beat me too it

I don't think your shrimp will die. Maybe feed 1/2 as much.

dude 9 months your tank should just now be rockin!!!

I would get 1 or 2 turbos at most. they will clean that size tank quick.

a few months... hmmm something isn't right. Test your rodi for phosphates and silicates. I found that a cheap membrane will still have phosphates and silicates in the output. Test that. This is my guess.....

  6. my first thought is stop dosing that stuff. With a 10 gal you can do a water change and rid phosphate that way. Also test your RODI water for phosphate and silicate. second is are you getting any skimmate? if so how much?

If you only have a cleaner shrimp I would stop feeding right away. That algae doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary. You might just stop feeding let it run its coarse. Might take a couple weeks. Turbo Snails will munch that down is my guess.

do you test alk and calcium since you have corals?

  7. I guess I don't see the point in this totally UGLY pointless setup when you could just get a TUNZE for the price and a warranty. This person has way to much time on there hands with no direction. They should have cleaned there tank and maybe a water change instead. Oh and with that extra time take that seachem intank petco test kit off.

Sorry guess I'm jealous of this guys free time. That was a wasted 20 seconds of my life.

  8. how old is your tank? can you give the specs on equipment as well like lighting and skimmer?? Do you use tap water or RO/DI? What size is your tank? what test kits and how old are they? Your keeping corals so those tests are okay but what about calcium and alk? when was your last water change? What do you have for a clean up crew?
