  1. I have two 3/4" sea swirls that I'm not using. I am the original owner and they work just fine. All original. Here are the specs on them. $110 each or $200 for both
  2. This skimmer is first come first serve. sorry normally would hold it for people. It is set up on my frag tank so you can look at it before you buy it.
  3. Bought new from Sunlight Supply a little over a year ago. Used on my old frag tank and been sitting in my garage since I moved. Comes with endcaps, reflectors, ballast and your choice of bulbs. I've got the blues, actinics, and whites to choose from. $90
  4. I have a lightly used euroreef skimmer I bought and used off and on for a little over a year. I think it is the 5-2 model and I bought it directly from Euroreef. The picture below is exactly what it looks like. They sold it to me as a blem because when they glued the cup it wasn't exactly straight. You can't even tell and it doesn't effect performance at all. This skimmer works really well. Just one of those good pump to skimmer body matches. Has the sedra pump with no modifications it is a stock skimmer. It doesn't need any modifications. $120
  5. Turns out I got it working. I may have had way to much flow going through the unit. This 1/2hp chiller is on the small side of 1/2hp that i'm used. I moved the chiller to my frag tank so I could play with it and plumbed it with a maji-jet and it started working like a champ. I don't know why but just running a slow flow through it worked great. This thing is not going to work for my 290gal. I'm most likely going to sell it and get something bigger. I would say the rating on this chiller is too high. I wouldn't run this on a tank larger than 200 gals. It is half the size of the pacific coast 1/2hp chiller. Anyone coming to my house this weekend want to buy a chiller
  6. That is what I was thinking too. Nyles you wouldn't happen to be coming to the Northern meeting would you? I could put together a sweet frag pack for you if you wanted to peak at this thing for me. If not I'm going to take it to an AC place or should I take it to a refrigeration place?
  7. That is exactly what I'm doing as a test. Running the outlet into a container in the sump with a temp probe in it. The container fills up and spills over into the sump. The used PCI 1/2hp chiller I setup chilled the water in the container down a few degrees in 10 minutes but the one I have is the same temp out and in. Some have said it may be too small for my system but I figured tank size shouldn't matter the water coming out should be colder period.
  8. They are sweet. It has really helped me dial in where phosphates come from and how to keep them low. The owner of it goes by "blueberry" on this site and offered to bring it and test peoples water.
  9. Just an FYI - There will be a HANNA PHOSPHATE PHOTOMETER for use at the meeting at my house. Bring your water (at least 20ml) if you want a real phosphate reading from your tank. You can also see how they work which is pretty cool. Also I will have a Vortec on a frag tank you can check out if you have been wanting to see one before dropping $300+
  10. Once this heat wave is done I'll test it again and open it up and take a look at it. Here is a question what should the water temps be approx. exiting the chiller if the water coming into it is constant 78 degrees and room temp is 70? so would a 1/2hp be 4 degrees cooler and a 1/4hp be 2 degrees cooler? forget tank size just water coming in and water coming out? How do you know it is working?
  11. Bought it used a couple weeks ago. I bought it as a working unit... This is not my first chiller so I know how to use them and set them up... The compressor comes on at the correct desired cooling temp, fan blows air but the air coming into the unit is the same temp as the air exiting the unit which I thought was odd. The water coming into the unit is the same temp as the water coming out. A loaner chiller replaced it working fine. It is not cooling the water but acts normal otherwise. I have no experience with this type of equipment. Aquamedic says they don't have parts for it. Only in Europe now. I am not sure who makes it.
  12. yep been talking with Jason at aqua-medic and they don't even have parts for them anymore except in Europe. He gave me a little more detail on the specs for refilling that aren't in the manual which is good. Great Customer Service for sure. I'll end up taking it to somewhere just thought someone might know a good place that I don't have to explain the whole thing. "its used for what?" It's hard enough to find a good AC repair place to repair your AC let alone something they have never seen before.
  13. Anyone have any good experience with a place that repairs chillers? The couple AC places I've called don't have any experience with them. Anyone have there chiller repaired by a good shop? It is not a pacific coast chiller.
  14. I found this on the vermetid. I'm pretty sure this was it. MANY THANKS. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-01/rs/index.php
  15. fly guy THANK YOU. I had no idea what a vermitid snail was and doing a search that is exactly what it was. The mucus web that is uses was a dead give away. That mucus web stuff is all over the tank. I want them all gone. I'll try more superglue. I didn't realize a snail could do these things.
  16. Yesterday night I pulled out a Tricolor acro colony that has been sliming all the time ever since we had it. Could never figure out why until last night we pulled out the rock and you could see a burrowing hole in the acro about the diameter of the end of a shoe lace. Instantly that didn't look right to me and looking inside you could see a worm. Cut the acro to expose the hole and sure enough there was half the worm sticking out. By the time I could find something to kill it with it had sunk down into the hole to far to kill, the burrow went all the way into the live rock. We put some super glue over the hole and the acro stopped sliming for the first time ever. It obviously can burrow through live rock and acro skeletons so how do I kill this thing and do you think there could be more in the rock? Anyone know what it is? Only thing I can think of is dunking the entire live rock in TMPCC for the normal dose.
  17. dun dun... dun dun...
  18. More pics to come of the skimmer and the new Tunze 6100's with magnets on a multicontroller. Tryed the Vortec but it had nothing but problems. It's a frag tank pump at best.
  19. Okay forget the modding, tweaking and skimmer BS. Here is the new RC500. I wish it was mine but it isn't. For comparison the Brute can is 32gal. and the other euroreef in the sump is a CS135. I am just as envious as everyone else just had to post the pics so we can all drool. (drooler) It's got 3 eheims
  20. forum telepathy, he just knew you were going to post something crazy. as far as the green stuff everyones got you covered there. spectra is dead on with the goby too.
  21. Clackzillias Maximus BABY!!!! (highfive) (agree) (dancing) (yahoo)
