Thanks for the offer, Joel!
I just found out that my pump is not dead, but the extension cord I used to get it plugged in is the culprit.
LMK what price you were thinking for the Euroreef!
I might still be interested in getting it for back-up.
Does it come with a pump?

My skimmer pump just died on me last night.
First it started tripping the GFCI, then stopped working while I was trying to track down the culprit.
It's still under warranty, but I need something to tide me over until I can get a new pump!
Anyone have something for about 150G that I could borrow, or something cheap to sell?
Edited to add: False alarm!
Apparently, the extension cord used to plug the pump in, went bad!
It's working fine again, and I finally actually managed to open up that darn sicce pump for a good cleaning while I was checking things.

What are the dimensions of this one (particularly the height)?
My skimmer pump just died last night and I could use a back-up skimmer!

All there are promising here (Eugene) is some more icy rain. :(
-
These are not DE bulbs, right?
-
I could use a few snails, depending...
-
Did the freezing ruin the unit, or can it be revived?
I can also help with water, if you need it. Just lmk!

If anyone from Eugene is going, please let me know.
There are a few frags looking for a ride, and I won't be able to make it this year.
-
Looks like hair algae to me.
And it *is* really taking over!
Do you have any kind of cleaning crew in there?
-
Gosh, I'd love to get this for my husband, if I could somehow get it to Eugene.
He is using an elderly (6+ years) desktop that's slower than molasses!
Would be lovely for Christmas!

As a dusk/dawn set-up, yes, I do.
T5s are good, but the vhos really make things pop.
Again, this is just personal opinion.
Do you have anyone nearby who runs T5s, so you could see in person what the tank looks like with T5 actinics?
-
I think VHO is still the best for actinics, but that may be just me.
I have T5s on one tank, and MH with vho actinics on the other.

Miles, I'm going to pick it up Friday!
Just found out I have to do childcare for a school event today.
-
My condolences!
That's sad news indeed.

Sally Lightfoots can certainly become trouble makers, especially when they get large.
I still wonder if it's a molt and the Sally is just cleaning up (hopefully).
-
Are you sure it's dead, and not just a molt?
Is there a little "lid" on the bottom that you can open?
I've thought one of my crabs had died many times, but apart from one *real* death, they were all molts.

Not Thursday' date=' i'm going to be watching the Ducks beat down the Beavs [/quote']
Okay, I'll try tomorrow, and otherwise Friday!

Maybe you need a new o-ring for the pump?
I have the same pump on a calcium reactor, and it's not leaking, but has recently started making an annoying buzzing sound.
-
After 5ish Call me when you are heading over.
Okay!
I'm thinking either tomorrow or on Thursday.
Will call beforehand.
And I wonder why I'm currently not getting any notifications about new posts anymore...
-
Thanks, Miles!
What time do you get home during the week?
-
If the $10 sunset is still available, I'd love to pick it up!
-
Is anyone from Eugene getting one, and could bring one down for me?
Or could I pay for one, and then get it at some point in the future?
-
Thanks!
Looking at the two possibilities, I don't know how anyone can tell them apart!
I guess I'll see if the branches are going to be skinnier at the tip or uniform!
I love the bright blue growth. The colors never quite look as nice as the real thing in the pics.

Now what?

I'm starting to be a little annoyed!
Just after being happy my skimmer pump was actually *not* dead, I noticed that one of my circulation pumps was off.
And *that* one is not coming back to life, so far.
It's a Tunze 6055, and I was hoping to find someone in the Eugene area, who owns one of these, so I could try mine out on their power supply.
Before I spring for a new motor block, only to find out that that wasn't the problem.
The green indicator on the power supply comes on, which I assume means it's working, but you'll never know.
This hobby is great when everything goes well, but turns into an expensive black hole, when equipment starts going south.
And I'm a little tired of it all, after tracking down what was tripping the GFCI yesterday (all while my daughter had a bunch of people over for her 18th birthday), spending all morning on the skimmer pump, and then the Tunze!
