  1. If I feed it directly, I do it just after the daylight bulbs turn off in the evening (the polyps extend with just the actinics) or in the morning before the daylight bulbs come on. But mostly I don't feed it directly.
  2. The collage makes it look as if I have more than I really have. Essentially a green, orange, and purple plating montis, an orange monti digitata, and a blue-polyped encrusting monti. Oh, and a couple frags of a green with purple rim plating monti. Regarding trading... I don't mind trimming the softies- but I don't have the heart to (intentionally) break up any of the stony corals. Maybe someday...
  3. Thank you Nyles... I'm happy and surprised to have done as well as I have (actually going on a year and a half now). I picked up a couple of things with my Christmas money- a frag of frogspawn and a green plating monti. I love all of my monti's and my wife and I have always wanted a torch coral, anchor coral, or frogspawn. A collage of my monti's... ...and a fresh top-down photo of my caulastrea. After I get everything settled in- I'll post a fresh full-tank shot.
  4. This thread has been hijacked by mini-doxies... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Holly, That is a really cute puppy.
  5. I really like this trumpet... I've never seen this color before.
  6. Welcome, tell us more about your 10 gallon...
  7. It is beautiful- nice.
  8. Oh yeah... Tell us about this anemone you "can't refuse". Pictures maybe?
  9. Bump... What happened with the octopus? Replaced by an anglerfish? Just curious.
  10. If I had a 5 bulb fixture I would consider trying... 1 6500K (GE) for growth 2 Aquablue+ 1 Actinic + 1 Pure Actinic
  11. I've got a 4-bulb fixture over my 40 gallon (16 or 18 inches deep). I'm growing a couple colored sticks, softies but I haven't tried a clam. This link shows my bulb selection and a photo of the results... http://forum.marinedepot.com/Topic26...light=dchemist The light is a Tek- 36" with 4 bulbs. I have 2 aquablues, 1 actinic plus and 1 pure actinic. I think its too blue, but I've gotten used to it.
  12. I wish I had more- they're my favorite. Unfortunately, I must have something in my tank that eats them for breakfast.
  13. I had a pretty big black stomatella for a while...
  14. Ron, It's hard to tell from your photos- but I think those are Stomatella snails.
  15. I caught my hermit winking at me. (laugh)
  16. Thanks dippin'. I don't miss how dark the frag was- but I do wish it still had that fluorescent green. Even under actinics, it doesn't fluoresce like it had (or like your photo shows).
  17. I almost forgot about this... Did you ever snap a photo of this?
  18. I caught this photo of my red reef hermit and his red feather worm last night.
  19. Hey Roy. Were you interested in the Kenya Tree? I'd hate for you to not get your next tank upgrade.
  20. Nice job- just a little different, uncluttered... I like it.
  21. I'm near Salmon Creek if you should want/need any help. Just let me know.
