What about one Seio 620 or 820 instead of 2 maxi's? The 2 would take up about the same space as the Seio but you get more flow. Can't help you on the overflow question, sorry.

Got a response from the OCA. Here it is, (from the fish and invert curator): Hello Mike, Cindy passed your email to me to answer. The claws exhibit will display tropical, temperate and cold / deep water animals. The emphasis is on different crustaceans and the species will include those that humans have utilized for sometimes generations as well as others that are just interesting or unique. At this time, the animals are from saltwater and estuary habitats. The exhibit is planned at this time to be a two year exhibit and when we reach the end of the first year you can expect to see a change out of some species for different animals. If you are familiar with live coral displays that also house other invertebrates you would be familiar with some of the species we will display. In addition we plan to display others that just do not get along well enough to place in community settings. When these animals are combined with other animals thatare found in very dep waters and remote locations we hope to provide a good cross section of animals that represent the group. Without giving away exactly which animals we will display, I hope this will give you an idea about the type of animals we have selected. All the best, Tad Sounds like it should be a nice exhibit!!

Looks like you are off to a good start.

The only way to not get air in your return line is to not expose it to air. This I don't have a clue as how to accomplish. The only thing I can think of is that after the inital burst of bubbles try tapping the return line and maybe you can cause the air to be pushed out and not seep out over time.

Sounds like you are getting air in the pump when you take it out to clean it. The other situation sounds like its just more trapped air somewhere or you could be drawing in air from a small crack in the return line maybe....just guessing there , its a stretch.

Don't know if anyone reads The States-man Journal, but they had an article in todays paper about the new exhibit that the Oregon Coast Aquarium is going to open in May (labor day weekend). It is going to be an exhibit featuring shrimps, crabs, lobsters, isopods, and copepods. Its going to be called "CLAWS". It will run for about a years time. I e-mailed the PR lady there hoping to get some more info. about it. And if/when I do, I'll forward that information to the club. Sounds like it might be pretty cool!!!

A long story short. We had some heat of the moment issues that have passed. That's it.

After what happened with the "trouble" over at TRT. I think I need to remind people of a few things. 1 - Please take into consideration everyones feelings that has or will post in a thread. Lets not get carried away. We don't wait to flame anyone at all. If you are having fun that is one thing but remember that others might not be in on the joke. 2 - If this becomes a problem we will take the ness. action to handle the trouble. BUT WE BELIEVE that everyone can make that judgement for themselves. 3 - PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ARE A SMALL GROUP THAT IS TRYING TO GROW AND BRING IN NEW PEOPLE. WE ALSO HAVE SPONSORS THAT ARE HELPING US WITH THE COSTS OF THE WEBSITE. THEY ALSO HAVE GIVEN TO THE CLUB AND I WOULD HATE TO HEAR THAT THEY HAVE BECOME UPSET WITH WHAT GOES ON HERE. There are more benefits then just the discount stores give you. Ex. Last year the BBQ had a door cost to enter $10.00 for non-members and $2 for members. If I remember correctly.
