fishmanmike01
As of late I have been toying with the idea of adding a six line or some other small wrasse. I know they consume alot of pods and such, Do you think it would be a problem as i allready have a psycedelic mandarin? This is in my 75gal. COReefer
you should be ok with a fairy wrasse of some sort I think. I think six lines are from the devil
Michael7979
Almost any wrasse will compete for food with the mandrain. Try to get one that is eating frozen foods.
siskiou
Is the mandarin eating any prepared foods? If not, there might be problems, as wrasses are competing for the same food.
impur
I think you'd be fine. I have a coris wrasse in my 75 with only about 40lbs of LR. I still see thousands of pods. Wrasses will take frozen food more readily than mandarins. If you can get the mandarin on frozen foods you will be set.
fishmanmike01
I dont think the mandarin eats frozen or at least I have not seen it eat it yet, I do however have about 85# of rock in the tank and another 20# in the fuge though. kilmca
I have a Sixline and I too think it's from the devil. I also have a Melanurus wrasse and a Scotter Blenny. I don't think the Scooter Blenny gets many pods because of the two wrasses but it does eat frozen. I would not recommend a Sixline because I think the Pyscedelic Mandarin is a much nicer fish and if it's not eating frozen the Sixline may reduce the pod population enough to hurt the Mandiran. cdumitru78
I had a six line and a mandarin in an established 75 gallon, and the mandarin slowly starved to death... that sucked. I took the six line out, waited about 5 months and bought another mandarin, he has been in the tank for about 3 months and he is fat and happy. Good luck if you end up with a mandarin, great fish.
