Michael7979
Who has one? Where did you purchase it? Thanks for the help! PS Those small airdyers don't work..... way too little.
Nyles
Err, I have a larger Goldstar, I think they run 15o-200 new from sears, I got mine from Chief I would HIGHLY recommend venting your lights and canopy outside if you can, as this should remove the humidity without the cost and hassle of a dehumidifier. Since I got ride of the 155 I have not had to use it, but I keep it around just in case.
Michael7979
Thanks Nyles! I'll keep that in mind.
siskiou
We have two for the bedrooms. I can't imagine running one in the living room. They are *loud*, even if they are advertised as whisper quiet! Brand is Maytag. We got ours' fairly cheap used on craigslist years ago, and they are still going strong. Michael7979
The 240 puts out some serious humidity. Need one to save things that are getting damp.
dsoz
I have a 75g in my basement, and also need a dehumidifier down there. I have exposed plumbing, and if I let my RO filter run for an extended period of time the pipes get cold enough to condense the water in the air, and they drip water all over the floor. One of these will probably be my big purchase in the next few months. I have looked at home depot, they have them for $100-200. dsoz
CA2OR
Am I going to need to worry about these things when I set up my 36g?
Michael7979
I really doubt it! I have roughly 350-400 gallons of water...... much more humidity/evaporation then you will have. Opening a window should be all you should have to do. Hoping to get one this weekend......... (fingers crossed).

CA2OR
True....but I feel retarded when I ask questions that in 3 years of owning a reef tank I think I should know these things.

Michael7979
OK update........... Picked one up and just hooked it up with a hose to allow continous running with out ever having to empty it. It is a 70 pint a day unit, should be large enough. So all this leads to a question............ What humidity % setting are you who have one running them at?

Michael7979
Well after running overnight for about 18hrs., it reads that the humidity isnow at 60%. I'm curious to see if I evaporate more now that the dehumidifier is running? We will see...........
