undrtkr_00
I seem to remember this discussed elsewhere, but have not been able to find the thread. Is ABS pipe reef safe for plumbing projects? I'm wanting to do a Stockman overflow standpipe to a 2"bulkhead, but the available PVC fittings aren't large enough to pull it off. reef-fisher
I have seen it used in many systems. Just be sure to clean it thoroughly and let the glue set completely before adding water. I believe ABS glue is more toxic until set.
spectra
I am using ABS inside my tank now. My overflow is made of a few ABS pcs thrown together. I did not glue them together so do not know about the cement used for them.
chewie
I have used both ABS pipe and ABS glue. No worries.

Barelycuda
You may want to double check the label on the can of glue. I have seen abs glue in the past that specificall said that it was not for potable water meaning that it can realease toxins. Dave
reef-fisher
Maybe thats what I saw. There are other types of glue that are safe however. Such as the 'all' or 'multi' purpose glues. Good bond and safe for potable water, just clear, not black.
