stylaster
Hey Guys I have had problems keeping a certain coral. It is Pavona Maldivensis either the orange or the green. I have tried low light and high light. They start out well and over 6 months time they slowly fade away. It is the only coral that i have kept that ive had issues with. Anyone have any tips how to keep them happy? Anyone have any frags available? I figure maybe i would try a captive raised frag instead of the wild colonies i usually see. Thanks Roy

siskiou
I have an orange one that's coming back nicely after having part of it die off when another frag landed on it. It's not quite large enough to frag yet. Mine is about midway in the tank, under T5s. Indirect flow. I feed fairly heavily.
badguitarist
although i have never kept maldiviensis I have kept several other pavonas. I have also noticed moderate to fairly strong light with heavy but indirect flow to be the best way to keep them alive. keep in mind pavona is a very autotrophic animal so organismal feeding isn't very necessary, more important is getting good light to it.
