wegotjs Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Well the 70 Gallon has a new home and I was able to get a very nice used tank off the classified here on the site. The new tank is a JBJ 28G Hqi glass Semi-nano tank. It has all the normal stuff, built in overflow and wavemaker, 150 HQI + Blue led nights, I used one of the back chambers as a refuguim and bag of carbon.Dennis helped me drill 2 holes for the sump, so I am running my Rps-1000 skimmer in a small 4 gallon sump. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/wegotjs/DSC00995.jpg[/img 1 Quote
mister crabs Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 nice.....i am thinking of drilling my biocube 29g the same way so i can run a decent skimmer. Quote
Benny503 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Very nice.... I like your sump tank(clap) Quote
R-3 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Hey Jon do you have the stock skimmer for that? The airston one? Let me know If you wanna get rid of it I'll buy it. How do you like the front to back depth Its nice in a nano. I should post some pics of mine Later Ryan Quote
Frank Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Tank is looking great...(clap) Yea come on out friday.. Quote
wegotjs Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 There seems to be enough room, the only draw back is that if you keep your house around 70 degree's it run's a little warm and could use a chiller.Would like a little bit more room in the back sump area maybe 2 inches. Quote
tidalsculpin Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 beautiful clown pair and nice work on the mods! Quote
wegotjs Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 Got a new camera and wanted to see if i could get some mico shots that were decent.I have switched my tank to lps/zoo's after some sps trouble but I am wanting to get back already. Quote
CCR Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Maybe a small fan in the sump area will help with heat. The back looks so familiar with all the wires plugged into the strip. Have you thought about a GFI? Oh yes looks good. Quote
andy Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Looks good, I reallyl ike that yellow/green FS. Quote
wegotjs Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Had a bad day today. Cleaned the tank last night and asked my wife to turn on the power heads to the tank. She forgot and I failed to notice it. After only about 5 hours when I woke up to go out I notice that my BW clown pair had died . Lost a flame and some crabs. No corals but I have had the clowns since they were just 1 inch.Came close to crying having raised them and all the tank issues they have been thru with me. I hate that it was just a stupid mistake , it's easier to take if they get a disease or get swallowed by a lion fish. THEY ARE SWIMMING TO THE OCEAN THRU THE SEWER SYSTEM RIGHT NOW . I SALUTE YOU !!!!! Quote
vanz Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 aww man sorry to hear that. Those were really nice fish. Sometimes I forget to turn on my pumps on my nano for 8+ hours, but the only clown in there manages to survive. Quote
dsoz Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Jon, I am so sorry for your loss. I know those fish were your favorites, and the whole reason that you got into reef tanks to begin with. You will recover, and when you get in your house you can make a bigger, better tank! dsoz Quote
wegotjs Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Dennis , i'm in the new house if you want to swing by sometime. Quote
