stylaster
Hi all Here are pics of my 24 gallon. It has been up and running for about 2 years now. I dont run a skimmer, but i do a 25% water change every 2 weeks. That seems to keep everything going good. Right now the biggest issue is keeping up with fragging the corals. I have let a few grow into each other just to see which one will be dominate. The lighting over the tank is a 250w sunpod halide system. Enjoy Roy

Smann
Very nice tank, welcome. I had the same question I would like to frag my monti, how did you start it on the back wall?
dsoz
' date=' how did you start it on the back wall?[/quote'] I am doing something like that. I just used super-glue to attach a frag plug to a vertical surface. Once the monti started to overgrow the frag plug, and attached to the vertical surface, it started to also grow horizontally. Right now it has two small projections that are starting to form the horizontal sections. My biggest fear is that I will need to drain the tank someday, and the monti will not fare well with it. dsoz

stylaster
I glued a 1" x 1" frag on the wall and it grew from there, alas as dsoz says it will be hard to get it off if i need to drain the tank
coralreefaquarist
how long did it take to get that big?1 year 2?
stylaster
It took about a year to grow that size (7" wide by 5" tall and comes out about 4") orange plating montis like that grow fast. The frag originally came from Upscales. Very fast growing one. Under bright light it gets a nice pinkish rim Ill post some more pics later of the whole setup, so you guys can see the light hood, etc. roy
