Getting out of the hobby sale - livestock first?

Recommended Posts

My life situation has changed over the past year and I no longer have the time or space in my home to give my tank the attention it deserves. I wish it weren't the case, but I need to start getting rid of my system (and hope to set up something a bit smaller in the near future!). To be honest, this whole process feels a bit daunting - just the idea of catching the fish out of my tank to sell them off sounds near impossible, and most of my corals are encrusted onto rocks...Any tips, advice, or help would be very much appreciated!

I assume I'll need to move all my corals first, so I can actually catch the fish...

Not much in the way of advice, but Custom Aquariums' lifetime warranty only applies to the original owner who purchased it.

Anyway, following. Interested in the purple tang, blastos, purple plating sponge. Do you know how old the purple tang is? When was your last fish/non fish addition to the tank? And whereabouts are you located (since I need to see if/when I can fit a trip into my schedule)?

You will get more parting it out but if you are too busy and feel too overwhelmed you can just pack up all the coral in bins. Take the big rocks out first and then catching the fish are easy then take it all in to a local fish store.  Once the coral is out you have time for the tank to sit.  While it is sitting you can soak it in vinegar or citric acid or just leave it until you have more time or you can just see what a fish store would give you for a tank. (Usually not much but sometimes it is worth it to not deal with the hassle)

The tank itself is about 3 years old. Everything was quarantined following humblefish's protocol prior to addition, and the last addition to the tank was about a year ago.  I'm not sure the best way to price things, but I've been getting a lot of interest in the purple tang, anthias, zoas, and frogspawn. Please feel free to make offers, I hope my pricing is reasonable. Located in North Portland

Purple tang - $200

Clownfish pair - $100

Anthias - $240 for the harem

zoa rocks - $50ea

Frogspawn colony - $100
