Isaac
For years now I haven’t run a filter of any type other than a little carbon every couple months at most. Anyone else do this? I get phenomenal results without the hassle and expensive of changing filters. Currently changing around 15% water weekly. islandVib3s
I do when I make a mess lol. But I might switch to those carbon infused pads to slide in baffles with monthly changes
shaywood
I stopped using socks a couple years ago when my phosphate/nitrate levels dropped low. I haven't used them since. I do use a skimmer and all sump water goes through a refugium. Also, I started using GFO recently to lower phosphates.
spectra
Hate socks……. when I had my 750 they would overflow in a couple days….. I said f it and went without…..every other water change would just suck the detritus out of the sump. next set up maybe try a roller mat.
