Cobalt
Anyone suggestions on helping this scoly recover? I went out of town for 2 weeks and didn’t get my weekly water change in for about 3 weeks and nitrates got as high as 35ppm. All the other corals are fine, except some did brown out a bit from the nitrates, including the adjacent scoly. Others seemed to thrive on the higher nitrate. Growth rate overall was great while I was gone. I’ve been back for two weeks now almost, and did a 15% gallon water change last week and a 15% gallon water change this week. nitrate 16ppm phophate 0ppm alk 7.5 calcium 280 sg 35ppm ammonia alert reads normal alk and ca are low because I was out of town and the DOS fell behind
CuttleFishandCoral
I think it looks like it’s on the mend. I doubt the nitrates had much to do with the reason it looks rough. Looks like maybe it got stung or something to me. But who knows. A dip will help prevent a secondary infection.

stylaster
I would bump your phophates up to around .05. Phosphates are needed for the health of the corals. I noticed when my phosphates bottomed out i would have issues with my SPS.

Cobalt
Thanks guys, yeah realized my phosphate was too low. I think leaving the refuge in light on 24/7 while I was out of town sucked all the phosphates out but not the nitrates. Ordered up some phosphate supplement regardless
