Blue Z Reef
Idk what these are but they are FAST! Not sure if it’s some weird pod, worm of some sort or something else? Anyone have these? Only saw them with lights out and my iPhone flashlight. Excuse the glass needing a wipe down on the outside 🤪
SuncrestReef
I'm guessing they are orange tigriopus californicus copepods. Every time I add live copepods into my tank I'm always amazed at how fast they can move.
Blue Z Reef
They are crazy, definitely seem more worm like than a pod. Who knows how long I’ve had them as I haven’t directly added pods for years, they just come along with my live rock that has been through a few tanks plus any hitchhikers from others. SuncrestReef
Try catching one with a net so you can examine it out of the water.
Blue Z Reef
Yeah we’ll see, I’m usually not up with lights out but maybe I can. Keep in mind this is a 210 gal tank so might be hard. I’ll see what I can do 😂
TaylorW
I think the orange or red ones are Tigger pods right? I was just recently looking on Algae Barn at pods and I do remember it saying that the Tiggers are red, so probably Tiggers? I couldn’t find them last night when I looked.

Those little suckers move fast, I was just going by your description yesterday I have no clue what those are. I've had my share of weird things in my tanks too Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
TaylorW
So I think I've found it and jarmitage is correct, it's a epitoke stage of a polychaete or Bristleworm... Baby Bristleworm or the like. They are seen at night and swim fast in a spiraling random motion and appear to bump into things at times apparently. Really cool that you got it on video [emoji106] Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk

It was really weird to see them, first time I’ve ever seen them in my years of reef keeping. Main thing was the bright orange color that made them stand out from the typical see through pods we are used to seeing.
