Feel Like Trident's Got My Back!

It was time to do calcium reactor maintenance again tonight.

This is a great time to crash a tank, as alk can plummet or skyrocket.

Feeling like Trident has my back!

Let's not leave out the rest of the APEX system though!

  • Leak detection for poor seals, loose 1/4" JG fittings.
  • Effluent flow monitoring for improperly tuned needle valve
  • Solenoid control by PH
  • Solenoid monitoring for incorrect regulator pressure.
  • Tank PH monitoring for reactor dumping too much CO2.
  • Ability to turn off feed pump if reactor crashes.

Feels like I have avoided a few crashes over the years, love it.

I hear you!

Last week I was doing some skimmer maintenance and that was messing with my sump water level, so I temporarily disabled my ATO.  Well, I finished the skimmer work and completely forgot about the ATO.  2 hours later I got an alert from my Apex because a year ago I set up an alert that if the ATO hadn't run for 2 hours it warns me.  I totally forgot I even set that up, but that's the beauty of having Apex alerts.   I quickly enabled the ATO and all was good again.

I covered this technique in my Apex Virtual Output tutorial:

Let me know if you want to compare Apex safeguards.
