TheClark
It was time to do calcium reactor maintenance again tonight. This is a great time to crash a tank, as alk can plummet or skyrocket. Feeling like Trident has my back! Let's not leave out the rest of the APEX system though! Leak detection for poor seals, loose 1/4" JG fittings. Effluent flow monitoring for improperly tuned needle valve Solenoid control by PH Solenoid monitoring for incorrect regulator pressure. Tank PH monitoring for reactor dumping too much CO2. Ability to turn off feed pump if reactor crashes. Feels like I have avoided a few crashes over the years, love it.
SuncrestReef
I hear you! Last week I was doing some skimmer maintenance and that was messing with my sump water level, so I temporarily disabled my ATO. Well, I finished the skimmer work and completely forgot about the ATO. 2 hours later I got an alert from my Apex because a year ago I set up an alert that if the ATO hadn't run for 2 hours it warns me. I totally forgot I even set that up, but that's the beauty of having Apex alerts. I quickly enabled the ATO and all was good again. I covered this technique in my Apex Virtual Output tutorial: Let me know if you want to compare Apex safeguards.
