Zmcclinton63
Just like the title says. Saw this at the Bolton of my tank. It's fuzzy or hairy feeling on one end and the other feels like a foot to a anemone. Please help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

IntoTheMystic
Clam foot? That looks very much like the byssus, or anchor, of a clam. If there is a clam in that tank, it's in heaps of trouble, sorry to say.

IntoTheMystic
I have two clams and they both look happy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If that is a byssus, and I'm pretty sure it is, the animal that released it will appear to be unaffected for a few days, maybe a couple weeks but each side of the shell will probably move further and further apart while the tissue inside the animal decomposes. I sincerely hope I'm wrong about this, Z. Was anything harassing one or both of the clams?
matty
Could it have also been on the rock from previous and was missed when it was hard and dry? Or from an old clam?
Zmcclinton63
Maybe from an old clam because I had one die about a week ago Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
