Ninjabeaver
So I need some tips and tricks. I noticed just now that my emergency drain was a little more that the trickle it needs to be. I checked the main drain and it is down to just a trickle. I am needing ideas on how to get it unplugged. After the standpipe in the overflow there is a 90 turn to horizontal and a very short run before it turns 90 to be straight down into sump. Bevo5
More fun idea - strong pump and a hose to shoot water down it full force. Or the wire brush seems like a good idea.
earthbound
I just had this same problem i just disconnected at the union and went to work with my trusty metal coat hanger. Having disloged the problem i then threw a wet/dry shop vac on the end of the pipe and sucked that snail out. badguitarist
Similar to the wet vac idea you could also try blowing air with a compressor through the pipes. not sure what the situation is but could you just cut out everything but the bulkhead and re plumb it? Ninjabeaver
I am stopping by Lowe's and picking up a small sink snake to make the bends, see if I can clear it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bevo5
Pick up a strainer as well - the cone shaped strainers with slips work great - get a couple and just rotate in/out as the other is cleaned.
Ninjabeaver
Well it is solved....my brothers stupid giant hermit crab that lives in a turbo shell crawled down there and was stuck. Had to take lights and hood down, then use coat hanger to hook the shell and long tweezers to grab once I got it high enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk He now lives in the sump. PowderBlue
do you not run a strainer on the drain? If not it will definitely help with issues like this. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
